Observation of the effect of gravity on the motion of antimatter

Abstract

Einstein’s general theory of relativity from 19151 remains the most successful description of gravitation. From the 1919 solar eclipse2 to the observation of gravitational waves3, the theory has passed many crucial experimental tests. However, the evolving concepts of dark matter and dark energy illustrate that there is much to be learned about the gravitating content of the universe. Singularities in the general theory of relativity and the lack of a quantum theory of gravity suggest that our picture is incomplete. It is thus prudent to explore gravity in exotic physical systems. Antimatter was unknown to Einstein in 1915. Dirac’s theory4 appeared in 1928; the positron was observed5 in 1932. There has since been much speculation about gravity and antimatter. The theoretical consensus is that any laboratory mass must be attracted6 by the Earth, although some authors have considered the cosmological consequences if antimatter should be repelled by matter7,8,9,10. In the general theory of relativity, the weak equivalence principle (WEP) requires that all masses react identically to gravity, independent of their internal structure. Here we show that antihydrogen atoms, released from magnetic confinement in the ALPHA-g apparatus, behave in a way consistent with gravitational attraction to the Earth. Repulsive ‘antigravity’ is ruled out in this case. This experiment paves the way for precision studies of the magnitude of the gravitational acceleration between anti-atoms and the Earth to test the WEP.

The weak equivalence principle (WEP) has recently been tested for matter in Earth’s orbit11 with a precision of order 10−15. Antimatter has hitherto resisted direct ballistic tests of the WEP due to the lack of a stable, electrically neutral, test particle. Electromagnetic forces on charged antiparticles make direct measurements in the Earth’s gravitational field extremely challenging12. The gravitational force on a proton at the Earth’s surface is equivalent to that from an electric field of about 10−7 V m−1. The situation with magnetic fields is even more dire: a cryogenic antiproton13 at 10 K would experience gravity-level forces in a magnetic field of order 10−10 T. Controlling stray fields to this level to unmask gravity is daunting. Experiments have, however, shown that confined, oscillating, charged antimatter particles behave as expected when considered as clocks14,15,16 in a gravitational field. The abilities to produce17 and confine18 antihydrogen now allow us to employ stable, neutral anti-atoms in dynamic experiments where gravity should play a role. Early considerations19,20 and a more recent proof-of-principle experiment21 in 2013 illustrated this potential. We describe here the initial results of a purpose-built experiment designed to observe the direction and the magnitude of the gravitational force on neutral antimatter.

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)

A WEP key is a 40-bit static encryption code that’s paired with a 24-bit initialization vector (IV), and used to disguise communications between users connected to the network.

These types of keys appear as a combination of numbers and capital letters A-F. They can be as short as 10 characters, or as long as 58 (!!) in some cases.

The main drawback of WEP keys is that they’re not very secure. Even a modest cybercriminal can often hack them within minutes, leaving your network vulnerable. Thermal Damage behind HEL-Irradiated Carbon Fiber–Reinforced Polymer Skin Jorge D. Garcia, Peter Joyce,* and Cody Brownell United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland 21402 

While lasers can defeat targets such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) through material degradation and penetration, it is also possible to defeat a target without penetration due to heat re-radiated to internal components. This possibility was investigated by using a thin carbon fiber–reinforced polymer (CFRP) to represent a UAV skin, and a steel disc to represent an internal component. A FLIR® A325sc infrared camera was used to measure temperatures on the back of the CFRP and a Type K thermocouple to measure steel disc temperature. Results confirmed that even without penetration, high energy lasers (HEL) pose a serious threat to military vehicles due to high temperatures of internal components. In addition, results indicated that the presence of the internal component near the CFRP skin contributed to even greater heating of the back surface by reflecting and radiating heat back to the CFRP. The temperature measurements using the IR camera were further validated in separate tests using a CFRP with embedded fiber Bragg grating sensors. After testing, a basic numerical model was developed and compared to the experimentally determined results. The model did not match the experiments because it was a unidimensional model and it did not account for changing material properties of the CFRP."

1. Introduction and Motivation The Department of Defense has been researching directed energy weapons for more than 40 years due to their great potential. 1 A recent example of the military development and employment of directed energy weapons is the Navy Laser Weapon System. Also known as LaWS, thisfiber-based laser weapon system was used to engage and destroy in-flight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the Naval Air Warfare Center in China Lake, California. 2 Later, in 2014, this weapon system was deployed on the USS Ponce and allowed sailors to quickly engage and destroy drones and small boat threats, all without the use of conventional ammunition. Just as the United States has invested heavily in directed energy weapons, so have its adversaries. Consequently, it is necessary, from a counter–directed energy weapons standpoint, to understand the effects of HEL on targets constructed with composite materials. Composites have become staples in both civilian and military sectors due to their desirable mechanical properties. They are stiff and lightweight, making them highly desirable for aircraft structures and thus have come into wide use in UAVs. 3,4 This was the motivation behind the current project as well as the desire to study HEL effects on carbon fiber composites. Although lasers are unlikely to leave gaping holes in targets such as UAVs, they can still inflict lethal damage due to internal thermal radiation. This problem has been investigated by scientists at the Materials Chemistry Branch of the Naval Research Lab. They noted that even without penetration, carbon fiber composites can reach temperatures up to 3000 ° C, resulting in significant re-radiation to internal systems such as fuel tanks, batteries, and electronics. Because these systems may be only a short distance away from the skin, they are vulnerable to such damaging radiation. 5 UAVs can thus be damaged or destroyed when internal components, such as lithium-ion batteries, become unstable around 150 ° C, solder melts around 180 ° C, and circuit boards char at approximately 300 ° C. 6

2. Experimental Approach The objectives of this work were to reproduce and expand on the modeling conducted at the Navy Research Laboratory (NRL) and to validate the model experimentally. Following is a list of activities carried out in order to accomplish the project’s objectives:

• Prepare thin carbon fiber composite materials, to include of 2-, 4-, and 6-ply sheets

for testing.

• Predict the transient and steady-state back face temperatures of an irradiated composite with one-dimensional finite difference modeling.

• Use a high-temperature thermal imaging camera to record temperatures on the backside of an irradiated composite, and employ such temperatures to predict the temperature rise of a backside component.

• Use thermocouples to measure the temperature rise of a backside component at short

distances.

• Validate the mathematical model by comparing the results against directly measured

component temperatures and use these results to update and improve the model."

Stockton Rush, Pilot of the Titan Submersible, Dies at 61

A lifelong adventure seeker, Mr. Rush said he took on the risk of deepwater travel because the “ocean is the universe. That’s where life is.”

Stockton Rush, the chief executive and founder of OceanGate and the pilot of the Titan submersible, was declared dead on Thursday after his vessel was found in pieces at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, near the rusting wreck of the R.M.S. Titanic. He was 61.

Mr. Rush oversaw finances and engineering for OceanGate, a privately owned tourism and research company based in Everett, Wash., which he founded in 2009. In 2012, he was a founder of the OceanGate Foundation, a nonprofit organization that encouraged technological development to further marine science, history and archaeology.

Mr. Rush first looked skyward for adventure. In 1981, when he was 19, he was believed to be the world’s youngest jet-transport-rated pilot.

If the sky was the limit, though, it was too confining for Mr. Rush.

“I wanted to be the first person on Mars,” he told Fast Company magazine in 2017.

Ineligible for Air Force pilot training because of poor eyesight, he said, he abandoned his dream of becoming an astronaut. Interplanetary travel didn’t seem economically viable in the foreseeable future. But he saw potential in underwater travel, and he said he was willing to take on risk and bend the rules to achieve his goals.

“I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed,” he said in an interview with “CBS News Sunday Morning” last year. “Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything. At some point, you’re going to take some risk, and it really is a risk-reward question. I think I can do this just as safely by breaking the rules.”

Richard Stockton Rush III was the scion of one of San Francisco’s most famous families. He was descended on his father’s side from two signers of the Declaration of Independence, Benjamin Rush and Richard Stockton.

He was born on March 31, 1962, in San Francisco. His father is chairman of the Peregrine Oil and Gas Company in Burlingame, Calif., and the Natoma Company, which manages apartment and other investment properties in and around Sacramento. His grandfather was the chairman of the shipping company American President Lines. Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco was named for his grandmother.

The Davies family’s inherited wealth was derived from Ralph K. Davies, who began at Standard Oil of California as a 15-year-old office boy and rose to become the youngest director in the company’s history.

Stockton, as Mr. Rush was known, graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Princeton University in 1984. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in 1989.

During summer breaks, he served as a DC-8 first officer, flying out of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for Overseas National Airways. The year he graduated, he joined the McDonnell Douglas Corporation as a flight test engineer on the F-15 program and was named the company’s representative at Edwards Air Force Base on the APG-63 radar test protocol.

Before founding OceanGate, he served on the board of BlueView Technologies, a sonar developer in Seattle, and as chairman of Remote Control Technologies, which makes remotely operated devices. He was also a trustee of the Museum of Flight in Seattle from 2003 to 2007.

In 1986, he married Wendy Hollings Weil, a licensed pilot, substitute teacher and account manager for magazine publishing consultants. She became the director of communications for OceanGate.

Her grandfather, Richard Weil Jr., was president of Macy’s New York, and she was the great-great-granddaughter of the retailing magnate Isidor Straus and his wife, Ida, two of the wealthiest people to die when the Titanic sank.

The aging Mr. Straus, a co-owner of Macy’s, refused to board the lifeboat while younger men were being prevented from boarding. Ida Straus, his wife of four decades, declared that she would not leave her husband, and the two were seen standing arm in arm on the Titanic’s deck as the ship went down.

Information on Mr. Rush’s survivors was not immediately available.

n his CBS News interview, Mr. Rush acknowledged that it was prudent while exploring the ocean at depths of thousands of feet to avoid fish nets, overhangs and other hazards. But, he said, safety concerns could also be a drag on a swashbuckling career in which risk paid returns not only in profits but also in unforgettable experiences.

“It really is a life-changing experience, and there aren’t a lot of things like that,” he told Fast Company. “Rather than spend $65,000 to climb Mount Everest, maybe die, and spend a month living in a miserable base camp, you can change your life in a week.”

His trips in the Titan brought him the adventure he craved.

“I wanted to be sort of the Captain Kirk,” he said. “I didn’t want to be the passenger in the back. And I realized that the ocean is the universe. That’s where life is.”

The Rōshānī movement (Pashto: روښاني غورځنګ, lit. 'The enlightened movement') was a populist, nonsectarian Sufi movement that was founded in the mid-16th century, in the Pashtunistan region of present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan, and arose among the Pashtun tribes. The movement was founded by Pir Roshan, an Ormur warrior, Sufi poet and revolutionary.[1] Roshan challenged the inequality and social injustice that he saw being practiced by the ruling powers of the Mughal Empire. He advocated for a system of egalitarian codes and tenets that his followers, the Roshaniyya, promulgated within Islam.[2] Pir Roshan educated and instructed followers of the movement through new and radical teachings that questioned basic Islamic canons during that time, and propagated egalitarian principles.[3] His teachings resonated among the Afridi, Orakzai, Khalil, Mohmand, and Bangash tribes.[3]

The Roshaniyya were a millenarian Sufi group popular with the Pashtun populations in the northwestern regions of the Mughal Empire.[4] The group achieved strong influence and authority among the eastern Pashtun tribes and played a significant role in Pashtun history and in the policy of the Mughal Empire on its western frontiers.[5] The movement itself was a challenge to Pashtun tribal society, and its purpose was to raise issues of leadership, authority, and social ethics.[4] Its leaders were the followers and disciples of Pir Roshan, and membership within the movement threatened to undermine traditional tribal leadership. Then, she asked me not to come out publicly while she was alive. I agreed, even though the request and her admission were hurtful in ways I couldn't put my finger on then, and probably haven't completely worked through it now, but, everybody who knew me, knew I was gay. The people I didn't tell knew anyway, and tacitly agreed to pretend that the unacknowledged had been acknowledged and accepted. Like I'm sure is true for millions of other glass door closeted people. When I went to bars, which was frequently, I never tried to hide who I was, so, it was an open secret. Had I never come out publicly, many, many people would have known. It would not then have ever really been a betrayal of trust to "spill the beans" because it wasn't a secret, it was an uncomfortably kept promise to my mother, but, it was also not the only reason I didn't come out swinging when she passed. The fear of the judgment of strangers and their holier-than-thou "shoulds" was at least as big of a burden to bear, but the "shoulds" that "should" matter, don't. Nobody should have to hide their sexuality. No parent should ask their child to.

"On March 27, 1980, a series of volcanic explosions and pyroclastic flows began at Mount St. Helens in Skamania County, Washington, United States. A series of phreatic blasts occurred from the summit and escalated until a major explosive eruption took place on May 18, 1980, at 8:32 am. Updated May 18, 2023 Defense Primer: Directed-Energy Weapons Both the 2022 National Defense Strategy and the House Armed Services Committee’s bipartisan Future of Defense Task Force Report have identified directed energy as a technology that could have a significant impact on U.S. national security in the years to come. As the Department of Defense (DOD) continues to invest in directed-energy (DE) weapons, Congress may consider implications for defense authorizations, appropriations, and oversight. Overview DOD defines DE weapons as those using concentrated electromagnetic energy, rather than kinetic energy, to “incapacitate, damage, disable, or destroy enemy equipment, facilities, and/or personnel.” DE weapons include high-energy lasers (HEL) and high-powered microwave (HPM) weapons; other DE weapons, such as particle beam weapons, are outside the scope of this In Focus. HELs might be used by ground forces in short-range air defense (SHORAD), counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS), or counter-rocket, artillery, and mortar (C-RAM) missions. The weapons might be used to “dazzle” (i.e., temporarily disable) or damage satellites and sensors. This could in turn interfere with intelligence-gathering operations; military cmmunications; and positioning, navigation, and timing systems used for weapons targeting. In addition, HELs could theoretically provide options for boost-phase missile intercept, given their speed-of-light travel time; however, experts disagree on the affordability, technological feasibility, and utility of this application. In general, HELs might offer lower costs per shot and— assuming access to a sufficient power supply—deeper magazines compared with traditional munitions. (Although a number of different types of HELs exist, many of the United States’ current programs are solid state lasers, which are fueled by electrical power. As a result, the cost per shot is equivalent to the cost of the electrical power required to fire the shot.) This could in turn produce a favorable costexchange ratio for the defender, whose marginal costs would be significantly lower than those of the aggressor.

Similarly, HPM weapons could provide a nonkinetic means of disabling adversary electronics and communications systems. These weapons could potentially generate effects over wider areas than HELs, which emit a narrower beam of energy. As a result, some analysts have noted that HPM weapons might provide more effective area defense against missile salvos and swarms of drones. HPM weapons have also been considered for use as nonlethal “heat ray” systems for crowd control. Directed-Energy Weapons Programs A number of countries are investing in directed-energy weapons programs. This In Focus discusses a selection of unclassified DE weapons programs in three leading military powers: the United States, China, and Russia. United States DOD requested approximately $1 billion for unclassified DE programs in FY2024. (For additional information about specific U.S. DE weapons programs, see CRS Report R44175, Navy Lasers, Railgun, and Gun-Launched Guided Projectile: Background and Issues for Congress, by Ronald O'Rourke, and CRS Report R45098, U.S. Army WeaponsRelated Directed Energy (DE) Programs: Background and Potential Issues for Congress, by Andrew Feickert.) DOD does not currently have any DE programs of record. DOD directed energy programs are coordinated by the Principal Director for Directed Energy within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD[R&E]). The Principal Director for Directed Energy is additionally responsible for development and oversight of the Directed Energy Roadmap. According to OUSD(R&E), DOD’s current DE roadmap outlines DOD’s plan to increase power levels of DE weapons from around 150 kilowatts (kW—a unit of power), as is currently feasible, to 300 kW by FY2023, “with goal milestones to achieve 500 kW class with reduced size and weight by FY2025 and to further reduce size and weight and increase power to MW [megawatt] levels by FY2026.” For reference, although there is no consensus regarding the precise power level that would be needed to neutralize different target sets, some analysts believe that lasers of around 100 kW could engage unmanned aircraft systems, small boats, rockets, artillery, and mortars, whereas lasers of around 300 kW could additionally engage cruise missiles flying in certain profiles (i.e., flying across—rather than at—the laser). Lasers of 1 MW could potentially neutralize ballistic missiles and hypersonic weapons. In addition to the DE roadmap, OUSD(R&E) manages the High Energy Laser Scaling Initiative (HELSI), which former Principal Director for Directed Energy Dr. Jim Trebes notes is “to demonstrate laser output power scaling while maintaining or improving beam quality and efficiency.” HELSI is intended to strengthen the defense industrial base for potential future directed energy weapons by providing near-term prototyping opportunities for industry partners. Dr. Trebes additionally notes that OUSD(R&E) has completed a DOD-wide Laser Lethality Analysis Process Review to identify future needs for the Department and best practices for DE development and use. China According to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, China has been developing DE weapons since at least the 1980s and has made steady progress in developing HPM and increasingly powerful HELs. China has reportedly developed a 30-kilowatt roadmobile HEL, LW-30, designed to engage unmanned aircraft systems and precision-guided weapons. Reports indicate that China is also developing an airborne HEL pod. According to the Defense Intelligence Agency, China is additionally pursuing DE weapons to disrupt, degrade, or damage satellites and their sensors and possibly already has a limited capability to employ laser systems against satellite sensors. China [has likely fielded] a ground-based laser weapon that can counter low-orbit spacebased sensors ... and by the mid-to-late 2020s, it may field higher power systems that extend the threat to the structures of non-optical satellites. Russia Russia has been conducting DE weapons research since the 1960s, with a particular emphasis on HELs. Russia has reportedly deployed the Peresvet ground-based HEL with several mobile intercontinental ballistic missile units. Although little is publicly known about Peresvet, including its power level, some analysts assert it is to dazzle satellites and provide point defense against unmanned aircraft systems. Russia’s deputy defense minister Alexei Krivoruchko has stated that efforts are underway to increase Peresvet’s power level and to deploy it on military aircraft. Reports suggest that Russia may also be developing HPMs as well as additional HELs capable of performing antisatellite missions. Potential Issues and Questions for Congress Technological Maturity Directed-energy weapons programs continue to face questions about their technological maturity, including the ability to improve beam quality and control to militarily useful levels and the ability to meet size, weight, and power (SWaP) and cooling requirements for integration into current platforms. Some DE systems are small enough to fit on military vehicles, but many require larger and/or fixed platforms that could potentially limit deployment options and operational utility. In what ways, if any, are DOD technology maturation efforts reducing the SWaP and cooling requirements of DE systems? Weapons Characteristics Although HELs may offer a lower cost per shot than traditional weapons such as missiles, they are also subject to a number of limitations. For example, atmospheric conditions (e.g., rain, fog, obscurants) and SWaP and cooling requirements can limit the range and beam quality of HELs, in turn reducing their effectiveness. Traditional weapons, in contrast, are not affected by these factors. How, if at all, might HEL limitations be mitigated by technological developments, concepts of operation, or other methods? What impact might a failure to mitigate these limitations have on future military operations? Mission Utility Given the strengths and weaknesses of DE weapons, DOD is continuing to examine their role within the military. DOD is additionally conducting multiple utility studies to analyze potential concepts of operation for DE weapons and to assess the scenarios in which they might be militarily useful. How might Congress draw upon the conclusions of these analyses as it conducts oversight of DE weapons programs? What is the appropriate balance between DE weapons and traditional munitions within the military’s portfolio of capabilities? Defense Industrial Base Some analysts have expressed concerns that, in the past, DOD did not provide stable funding for DE weapons programs or sufficient opportunities for the DE workforce. According to OUSD(R&E), HELSI is intended to address these concerns by providing industry with assured prototyping opportunities. In what ways, if any, has HELSI strengthened the defense industrial base for DE weapons? What, if any, challenges does the base continue to face and how might they be mitigated?

Intelligence Requirements

Some analysts have questioned whether DOD has sufficient knowledge of adversary DE weapons systems and materials to develop its weapons requirements. DOD is currently attempting to further define its DE collection requirements for the intelligence community (IC) through the Directed Energy Lethality Intelligence initiative. To what extent, if at all, is this initiative improving connectivity between DOD’s DE community and the IC? What collection requirements, if any, remain? Coordination within DOD Pursuant to Section 219 of the FY2017 National Defense Authorization Act (P.L. 114-328), OUSD(R&E)’s Principal Director for Directed Energy is tasked with coordinating DE efforts across DOD and with developing DOD’s Directed Energy Roadmap, which is to guide development efforts. To what extent are the military departments and defense agencies adhering to this roadmap? What, if any, additional authorities or structural changes would be required to ensure proper coordination throughout DOD? Russian documents Set out 'tectonic weapon' research

Moscow. The first official details have emerged in Moscow of ambitious research into 'tectonic warfare' carried out by the former Soviet Union and subsequently by the government of Russia, and involving atte mpts to stimulate 'artificial' earthquakes as weapons of destruction. According to documents obtained by the newspaper Moscow News, two research programmes, the first known as ' Mercury ' and the second as ' Volcano', were aimed at creating new earthquake epicentres by using underground nuclear explosions . Geophysicists are aware that impending earthquakes may be triggered by underground nuclear explosions . But Western geophysicists remain sceptical about tectonic warfare and have all but abandoned research after two unsuccessful phases of activity in the 1960s and 1980s, says Roger Clark, a lecturer in geophysics at the University of Leeds. Clark is not at all surprised that th e Russians tried to create earthquakes and control their location electromagnetically, however. "This sort of science is very much part of their heritage. We don't think it is impossible, or wrong , but past experience suggests it is very, very unlikely. "

The programme , which was secretly launched by the Communist rulers of the former Soviet Union in 1987, and has been unofficially known to Western geophysicists for several years, is now believed to have been abandoned. It would certainly contravene the terms of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, which Russia signe d at the United Nations in Geneva last month . The Mercury project was launched in the former Soviet republic of Azerbaijan, but came to a halt when the republic became independent. It was superseded by the Volcano project. Three underground nuclear tests are believed to have taken place at sites in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the documents, the Mercury project was launched by a secret decree of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union. The objective was to "develop a methodology for remote operation on an earthquake epicentre by using weak seismic fields and research possibilities of transferring the seismic energy of an explosion ".

The documents say that the Mercury project involved 22 scientific and industrial organizations, including the Geological Institute of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences in Baku. The remit extended to developing the electronic equipment to be installed aboard space satellites that would control the tectonic weapon. The scientists were given three years to complete research, with testing planned for 1990.

During the research phase, Azerbaijani scientists grew increasingly confident and, according to the documents, were sure that " after [a] nuclear explosion, subterranean energy may accumulate at huge distances from the epicentre and reach massive capacity, after which the next directed explosion can release it all ".

Underground testing began at the town of Batken in Kyrgyzstan, and was directed by lkram Ke rimov , of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. The documents say that scientists detonated an underground nuclear charge and tried to control the direction of seismic energy release d using British-built equipment known as 'system 9690 ' .

A report prepared by the Mozhaisky Military Engineering Institute concluded that the test had been a success. But progress slowed considerably following Azerbaijan's independence from the Soviet Union. At about this time , Russia embarked on a more comprehensive tectonic warfare programme known as the Volcano project. The Earth Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) became the project headquarters .

Research was scheduled to be completed in 1992, with underground testing beginning the following year. The final test was carried out at a place code-named S36NZ-0Kh; Moscow News believes the letters 'NZ' refer to Novaya Zemlya, where Soviet nuclear testing began in the 1950s."

3rd Rock from the Sun is an American television sitcom created by Bonnie and Terry Turner, which originally aired from January 9, 1996, to May 22, 2001, on NBC. The show is about four extraterrestrials who are on an expedition to Earth, the third planet from the Sun, which they consider to be a very insignificant planet. The extraterrestrials pose as a human family to observe the behavior of human beings.

The show premiered three years after the film Coneheads, which was also written by the couple and featured a similar premise of aliens arriving on Earth and assimilating into American society.

Overview

The premise of the show revolves around an extraterrestrial research expedition hailing from a planet in a barred spiral galaxy on the Cepheus-Draco border attempting to live as a normal human family in the fictional city of Rutherford, Ohio, said to be 52 mi (84 km) outside of Cleveland where they live in an attic apartment. The show's humor is principally derived from the aliens' attempts to study human society and understand the human condition, while living as humans on Earth, reflecting on human life from the perspective of aliens. Most of the episodes are named after the protagonist, Dick. In later episodes, they have become more accustomed to Earth and are often more interested in their human lives than in their mission.

The show also takes humor from its mirroring of all human anthropological expeditions and their assumptions of superiority to the "natives", as well as their inability to distinguish themselves from the natives. Dr. Mary Albright (Jane Curtin) is a professor of anthropology at fictional Pendelton State University, and many of the issues with which the four aliens struggle appear in her conversation and work. Furthermore, these four alien researchers end up looking approximately like joyriders as they get drawn increasingly further into human life.

Dick Solomon (John Lithgow), the High Commander and leader of the expedition, is the family provider and a physics professor at Pendelton (with Lithgow's eldest son Ian playing Leon, one of his less-successful students). Information officer and oldest member of the crew Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has been given the body of a teenager and is forced to enroll in high school (later college), leaving security officer Sally (Kristen Johnston) and "the one with the transmitter in his head", Harry (French Stewart), to spend their lives as 20-somethings hanging out at home and bouncing through short-term jobs. The show also involves their relationships with humans, mostly their love interests.

The family often communicates through Harry with their off-world (and usually unseen) boss, the Big Giant Head, who when he finally visits Earth, is played by William Shatner. Harry unexpectedly (and often in inconvenient circumstances) stands up, his arms stiff (acting as the antenna), and proclaims: "Incoming message from the Big Giant Head!"

Vulcan (Latin: Vulcanus, in archaically retained spelling also Volcanus, both pronounced [wʊɫˈkaːnʊs]) is the god of fire[1] including the fire of volcanoes, deserts, metalworking and the forge in ancient Roman religion and myth. He is often depicted with a blacksmith's hammer.[2] The Vulcanalia was the annual festival held August 23 in his honor. His Greek counterpart is Hephaestus, the god of fire and smithery. In Etruscan religion, he is identified with Sethlans.

Vulcan belongs to the most ancient stage of Roman religion: Varro, the ancient Roman scholar and writer, citing the Annales Maximi, records that king Titus Tatius dedicated altars to a series of deities including Vulcan.[3]

Etymology

The origin of the name is unclear. Roman tradition maintained that it was related to Latin words connected to lightning (fulgur, fulgere, fulmen), which in turn was thought of as related to flames.[4] This interpretation is supported by Walter William Skeat in his etymological dictionary as meaning lustre.[5]

It has been supposed that his name was not Latin but related to that of the Cretan god Velchanos, a god of nature and the nether world.[6] Wolfgang Meid has disputed this identification as fantastic.[7] Meid and Vasily Abaev have proposed on their side a matching theonym in the Ossetic legendary smith of the Nart saga Kurd-Alä-Wärgon ("the Alan smith Wärgon"), and postulated an original PIE smith god named *wl̩kānos.[8] But since the name in its normal form is stable and has a clear meaning—kurd ("smith") + Alaeg (the name of one of the Nartic families)+ on ("of the family")—this hypothesis has been considered unacceptable by Dumezil.[9]

Christian-Joseph Guyonvarc'h has proposed the identification with the Irish name Olcan (Ogamic Ulccagni, in the genitive).[citation needed] Gérard Capdeville finds a continuity between Cretan Minoan god Velchanos and Etruscan Velchans. The Minoan god's identity would be that of a young deity, master of fire and companion of the Great Goddess.[10]

According to Martin L. West, Volcanus may represent a god of the fire named *Volca and attached to the suffix -no-, the typical appendage indicating the god's domain in Indo-European languages. *Volca could therefore be a cognate of the Sanskrit words ulkā ("darting flame") and/or várcas- ("brilliance, glare").[8]

Worship

Vulcan's oldest shrine in Rome, called the Vulcanal, was situated at the foot of the Capitoline in the Forum Romanum, and was reputed to date to the archaic period of the kings of Rome,[11][12] and to have been established on the site by Titus Tatius,[13] the Sabine co-king, with a traditional date in the 8th century BC. It was the view of the Etruscan haruspices that a temple of Vulcan should be located outside the city,[14] and the Vulcanal may originally have been on or outside the city limits before they expanded to include the Capitoline Hill.[1] The Volcanalia sacrifice was offered here to Vulcan, on August 23.[11] Vulcan also had a temple on the Campus Martius, which was in existence by 214 BC.[1][15]

The Romans identified Vulcan with the Greek smith-god Hephaestus.[16] Vulcan became associated like his Greek counterpart with the constructive use of fire in metalworking. A fragment of a Greek pot showing Hephaestus found at the Volcanal has been dated to the 6th century BC, suggesting that the two gods were already associated at this date.[12] However, Vulcan had a stronger association than Hephaestus with fire's destructive capacity, and a major concern of his worshippers was to encourage the god to avert harmful fires.

The festival of Vulcan, the Vulcanalia, was celebrated on August 23 each year, when the summer heat placed crops and granaries most at risk of burning.[1][17] During the festival, bonfires were created in honour of the god, into which live fish or small animals were thrown as a sacrifice, to be consumed in the place of humans.[18]

The Vulcanalia was part of the cycle of the four festivities of the second half of August (Consualia on August 21, Vulcanalia on 23, Opiconsivia on 25 and Vulturnalia on 27) related to the agrarian activities of that month and in symmetric correlation with those of the second half of July (Lucaria on July 19 and 21, Neptunalia on 23 and Furrinalia on 25). While the festivals of July dealt with untamed nature (woods) and waters (superficial waters the Neptunalia and underground waters the Furrinalia) at a time of danger caused by their relative deficiency, those of August were devoted to the results of human endeavour on nature with the storing of harvested grain (Consualia) and their relationship to human society and regality (Opiconsivia) which at that time were at risk and required protection from the dangers of the excessive strength of the two elements of fire (Vulcanalia) and wind (Vulturnalia) reinforced by dryness.[19]

It is recorded that during the Vulcanalia people used to hang their clothes and fabrics under the sun.[20] This habit might reflect a theological connection between Vulcan and the divinized Sun.[21]

Another custom observed on this day required that one should start working by the light of a candle, probably to propitiate a beneficial use of fire by the god.[22] In addition to the Vulcanalia of August 23, the date of May 23, which was the second of the two annual Tubilustria or ceremonies for the purification of trumpets, was sacred to Vulcan.[17][23]

The Ludi Vulcanalici, were held just once on August 23, 20 BC, within the temple precinct of Vulcan, and used by Augustus to mark the treaty with Parthia and the return of the legionary standards that had been lost at the Battle of Carrhae in 53 BC.

A flamen, one of the flamines minors, named flamen Vulcanalis was in charge of the cult of the god. The flamen Vulcanalis officiated at a sacrifice to the goddess Maia, held every year at the Kalendae of May.[24]

Vulcan was among the gods placated after the Great Fire of Rome in AD 64.[25] In response to the same fire, Domitian (emperor 81–96) established a new altar to Vulcan on the Quirinal Hill. At the same time a red bull-calf and red boar were added to the sacrifices made on the Vulcanalia, at least in that region of the city.[26]

Amid these and other puzzles large and small, we cannot forget that the central mystery of the Titanic remains what it has always been:

‘Why did Captain Smith accelerate into an exceptionally large and southerly ice field of which he had been warned repeatedly, both before and during his last voyage?’ . . .

We also reassess and throw new light upon many further points, among them: the disappearance of the lookouts’ binoculars; the fire, covered up by Captain Smith, that raged below in a coal bunker from before the maiden voyage began to within hours of the disaster; the attested reluctance of Chief Officer Henry Wilde to take up his duties; the fifty-five passenger cancellations (including J. P. Morgan’s) shortly before departure; the massive alteration to the Titanic’s superstructure days before she set sail; and the conundrum of the ‘mystery ship(s)’ which may—or may not—have passed from the scene of the tragedy as it was still being played out, raising the possibility that far more than one in three of those aboard could have been rescued. . . .

The perfunctory trials of the Titanic, a pale imitation of the Olympic’s, were followed by an outbreak of fire in bunker number ten. It could have been dealt with at Southampton, with all a great port’s fire-fighting facilities and without affecting sailing time; instead, an extra twelve firemen were specially signed on to deal with it at sea. The blaze, . . . was concealed from [Captain Maurice Harvey] Clarke, the Board of Trade inspector. Why did Smith not have the fire put out as soon as possible? Why did he hide it? Come to that, why did his ship consistently show a slight list to port in a calm sea before the collision, as noted by several aboard? Was there some undeclared damage to account for this—a leak in the weakened stern, for example? Why after the collision did Smith run the engines slow ahead for some minutes, as attested by witnesses, a move which would have exacerbated the flooding the forward compartments? Why was counterflooding not attempted as a means of keeping the ship on an even keel for longer? Why did Dr. [Robert D.] Ballard find a bulkhead not on his plan of the Titanic when exploring the wreck? . . .

Neither Dr. Ballard nor anyone else who has visited the wreck for pictorial or plundering purposes has produced a single object or photograph of anything showing the name “Titanic”—except on the bow and on one luggage–tag. The name is shown on nothing else both built into the ship and recovered or recorded so far. We found this sufficiently remarkable to invite every likely source to settle the matter once and for all by furnishing proof that the wreck was the Titanic. Reactions ranged from amusement via irritation to ridicule and shock that anyone would raise such a question.

Our difficulty was that a substitution, far-fetched or no, looked like a promising explanation for so many puzzles [the author inferring that White Star’s severely damaged Olympic was marginally repaired and sent to sea as the “Titanic;” that the real Titanic, renamed “Olympic,” went on to be used in World War I; and that J. P. Morgan benefited from the wreck] . . . .

But in terms of interest and importance, J. P. Morgan, the real owner of the ill-fated ship, is the outstanding absentee, topping the unusually lengthy list of fifty-five passengers known to have cancelled their bookings at the eleventh hour [including Morgan’s business partner and the outgoing Ambassador to Paris Robert Bacon, American steel baron Henry C. Frick, railroad and shipping tycoon George W. Vanderbilt; America’s chocolate king Milton Hershey, New York finance magnate Horace J. Harding and Rev. J. Stuart Holden, rector of St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral in London]. He was too ill to sail on the world’s most lavish liner, but well enough to reunite with his mistress in Aix-les-Bains, where he was found ‘in excellent health’ by a reporter ‘just after the ship went down.’ Asked about the disaster, he ‘indicated extreme distress.’ He had arrived at the French resort after a Nile cruise and visits to Rome and Florence [having conferred with his masters in the Vatican and Borgo Santo Spirito]; the news confirming the disaster broke on his seventy-fifth birthday, 17 April [imparting to this murderous, financial tyrant a most enjoyable birthday!]. From previous chapters we know the purpose of the Jesuit Order. But before we begin to peer into the abyss of the tragedy called “the Titanic,” involving the largest ocean liner of its time having been built to be treacherously sunk by the combined thunderbolts of the Olympic Jesuit Order, known to itself as “The Company of the Perfect,” we must review how these mind-controlled, soldiering, international Marine Corps of Loyola carry out their deeds of blood while under orders from their “Father General."

“ ‘ I should regard myself as a dead body, without will or intelligence, as a little crucifix which is turned about unresistingly at the will of him who holds it, as a staff in the hands of an old man, who uses it as he requires it, and as it suits him best.’ ” {4}

“. . . when the General shall require the perpetration of any crime . . . or the performance of any act howsoever perfidious or shameless,—in all, or any of these cases, the Jesuit shall execute his commands without ‘fear of offense.’ ” {5}

“ ‘No constitution, declaration, or any order of living, can involve an obligation to commit sin, mortal or venial, unless the superior command it in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, or in virtue of holy obedience, which shall be done in those cases or persons wherein it shall be judged that it will greatly conduce to the particular good of each, or to the general advantage [of the Jesuit Order]; and, instead of the fear of offense, let the love and desire of all perfection proceed, that the greater glory and praise of Christ, our Creator and Lord, may follow.’ ” {6} [Emphasis added]

(The Honorable Pennsylvania Congressman E. Joy Morris of Philadelphia, in his Remarks Against the Introduction of the Monastic System and the Secret Religious Orders of the Church of Rome into that Commonwealth, Delivered on the Final Passage of a Bill to Incorporate the Third Order of Franciscans, in Cambria County, Into a Body Politic, declares in1856, just prior to America’s War Between the States:)

“With what an iron yoke the monastic fraternities are ruled by their superior generals, and how completely individual independence is crushed under such a system, may be understood from the following extract from a work of the Reverend Father Jesuit [Xavier] DeRavignan, De l’ Existence et de l’ Institut des Jesuits, pp. 53, 54. We read at the article, ‘Obedience to Superiors:’ ‘You shall always see Jesus Christ in the General; you shall obey him in every thing; your obedience shall be boundless in the execution, in the will, and understanding; you shall persuade yourself [against common conscience] that God speaks with his mouth; that, when he orders, God himself orders. You should execute his command immediately, with joy and with steadiness. You shall penetrate yourselves with the thought that all which he will order shall be right; you shall sacrifice your own will with a blind obedience. You shall be bound at his request, to be ready to unveil your conscience to him. You shall be, in his hands, a dead body, which he will govern, move, displace, according to his will. You shall resemble the stick upon which rests an old man.’ . . .

‘They contributed,’ says [Henry] Hallam in his Constitutional History of England, ‘in a very material degree to check the tide of the Reformation. Subtle alike, and intrepid, pliant in their direction, unshaken in their aim, the sworn, implacable, unscrupulous enemies of Protestant governments, the Jesuits were the legitimate object of jealousy and restraint. As every member of that society enters into an engagement of absolute, unhesitating obedience to its superior, no one could justly complain that he was presumed capable at last of committing any crimes that the policy of his monarch [Jesuit General] might enjoin.” {7} [Emphasis added]

“The General possessed the secrets of every member . . . He knows the character, the inclinations of every member . . . He is made acquainted with the consciences of all who must obey him, particularly the Provincials and others to whom he has intrusted functions of great importance . . . Every year, a list of the houses and members of the Society, the names, talents, virtues, failings of all are there recorded . . . ‘and [in the words of the General] we have men for martyrdom, if they be required.’ ” {8}

The year is 1909. The building of Titanic has begun at a shipyard in Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland. Belfast is the Protestant haven of the Irish and is hated by the Jesuit Order. By 1912, nearly five hundred thousand Ulster Protestants would sign the Ulster Covenant pledging “to defeat the conspiracy to set up a Home Rule [Rome Rule] Parliament.” Ireland is still part of the British Empire but most of the Island will be severed from the British Crown as a result of the Jesuits’ World War I. The Panama Canal is in building and will be completed in time to begin its usefulness during “The Great War.” The Company’s planned destruction of the Protestant British Empire is at hand and will be completed by the end of the Jesuit General’s “Cold War.” The destruction of the Protestant German Empire, having courageously expelled Loyola’s Blackrobes, has already been put in motion with a secret treaty between the Order’s agents in France and Russia. The overthrow of the Orthodox Russian Empire has already begun, the Jesuits having provoked a war in 1904 using Emperor Meiji of Japan. The destruction of Imperial Japan is in the making as payback for the Emperor’s shogun expelling the Jesuit “missionaries” for over two hundred and fifty years. The atrocities of the Jesuits’ Bolshevik Revolution and subsequent Inquisition by Jesuit-trained Josef Stalin will be blamed on the Jews, converting the Europeans into unwitting tools of Rome’s Third Reich. The Jewish Holocaust will be used to justify Rome’s creation of the Labor Zionist nation of Israel, paving the way for an even greater “burnt offering” of Jews, as the majority of these descendants of Jacob, due to worldwide anti-Jewish fury, are to be driven from the nations to one geographical location. The land of Canaan, being necessary to that end, England’s General Allenby will take Jerusalem from the Moslem Turks in 1917, enabling Solomon’s Temple to ultimately be rebuilt for the “infallible” Pope,

To finance this grand design, the Jesuits must put their privately owned “Federal Reserve Bank” in place before the Crusade begins. That bank must be established in the greatest wealth-producing nation on earth composed of mostly Middle Class White Anglo-Saxon Protestants and Baptists known for their honest and upright “Protestant work ethic.” Remembering that the Order has been expelled from Europe, having taken refuge in the Protestant American and British Empires, its Masonic tools are in place and ready to obediently execute the plan.

But there are those in government and high finance within both Empires who are not willing to participate. Their power and fortunes will not be used to this end. So, they must be ushered out of this world in a most terrifying way! Death by drowning, amidst the screams, yells, shrieks, wailing and weeping of helpless men, women and children floundering in the North Atlantic, the innocents will plunge over ten thousand feet—two and a half miles—to their nightmarish doom!

Therefore, the White Star Line is created to bring the immigrant traffic— Irish, French and Italian Roman Catholics—into the United States pursuant to Rome’s plan of “making America dominantly Catholic.” But the Deathship Titanic is built, in hated Protestant Belfast, to be sunk and will be used to entice three hundred and twenty-five of the world’s richest and finest to board “the unsinkable” man-made leviathan, loaded with an additional nineteen hundred Protestant and Catholic “animals.” With the first-class fare being fifty thousand Federal Reserve Notes by today’s standard, multi-millionaires board the ship, three of them Jewish—Benjamin Guggenheim, Isidor Straus, the head of “Macy’s” department stores, and Freemason John Jacob Astor—a frequent passenger on the White Star line, a notable American patriot and soldier, and the wealthiest man on board the Titanic.

The Captain of the ship is Edward J. Smith, the world’s greatest pilot and master of the North Atlantic waters, seasoned with twenty-six years on the high seas. Captain Smith is indeed one of the Black Pope’s unseen and unknown Jesuit Temporal Coadjutors. This means he was not a priest but a “Jesuit of the short robe,” as the French would call him, serving the Order in his profession. He, “without will or intelligence,” will commit this crime—this shameless and heartless atrocity—at the will of his master who holds him “as a little crucifix” and “who uses him as it suits him best.” Edward J. Smith has been required for “martyrdom."

Departing southern England from the port of Southampton at 12:00 noon on April 10, 1912, the Captain’s master had boarded. This handsome and unpretentious young man was the agent for the most powerful Jesuit in Ireland who in turn reported directly to the Black Pope in Rome, Francis Xavier Wernz. The Captain’s master was a military operative, ‘a stick in the hand,” of his Provincial-Superior of the Irish Province (which Province then included Australia) of the Society of Jesus. That man was Francis M. Browne, now in his final years of Jesuit formation and internationally made known once again for our generation by National Geographic in the “Acknowledgments” of the video Secrets of the Titanic, released in 1986—the year after Irish Jesuit priest Edward E. O’Donnell discovered Browne’s photographic collection in a large metal trunk, calling it to the attention of the editor of the London Sunday Times. Browne, for the purposes of deception and “deep cover,” was openly and to all appearances merely a photographer for the Church: but secretly he was under orders serving as the Abraham Zapruder by photographing the seafaring limo and its targeted occupants unwittingly ensnared in this “Executive Action!"

(Born into a prominent Cork family in 1880, Francis Browne was an orphan by his mid-teens, then to be raised by his powerful uncle, Robert Browne—the Bishop of Cloyne! Entering the Jesuit Novitiate in 1897, Francis underwent his gruesome philosophy instruction from 1903 to 1906 at the infamous Jesuit institution in Chieri, Italy, not far from Turin, at which Abate Leone recorded the secret 1825 meeting between Jesuit Superior General Fortis and his Assistants, including the future Jesuit General and “Rebuilder of the Jesuits” Johannes Roothaan. By 1912, Browne was nearly thirty-two years of age and in his second year of Jesuit “Moral Theology” at Milltown Park in Dublin. That Jesuit institution taught the very same regicide doctrines that had been publicly condemned and burned by the French Parliament in 1761! Browne would later graduate in 1915 and receive ordination as a Jesuit priest that same year at the hand of his uncle—the Provincial’s Jesuit Spiritual Coadjutor— the Bishop of Cloyne. Because of the Titanic secret that he carried in his breast, Francis would later be deliberately sent into the heat of battle as a chaplain, serving with the Irish Guards at two of the most horrendous and yet deliberate sacrificial bloodbaths of World War I—the Somme and Passchendaele! Gassed, wounded five times and declared “the bravest man I ever met” by Colonel (later Field Marshall) Montgomery, Browne became a most trusted Jesuit of the Fourth Vow, teaching Ignatius Loyola’s Spiritual Exercises at retreats and preaching all over Ireland. Jesuit Browne obediently served the Black Pope throughout the Second Thirty Years’ War and Cold War until his death in 1960—three years before the murder of JFK!)

Dear truth-seeker, the plot is thick and the plan is well laid. “Lord Browne,” one of Ireland’s bishops for over seventeen years, an acting President of the bigoted National Ecclesiastical College in Maynooth referred to in a previous chapter, and personally known throughout Ireland, purchases a first class ticket for his nephew, Francis. That ticket (No. 84) covered the first two legs of Titanic’s maiden voyage. The money used to purchase this ticket was supposedly derived from a civil suit whereby the Bishop and six priests, including his Jesuit nephew and brother of Francis, William Francis Browne, were awarded a total of five hundred pounds by a jury for libel. (The publishing defendant had claimed the “Most Reverend Lord Bishop,” in pursuance of the Order’s “Home Rule” doctrine and quest, had ordered the Catholics of his diocese to dismiss all Protestants in their employ, which of course is pursuant to maxims of Canon Law as taught at Maynooth College!) The Bishop also gave his nephew a new camera with which to photograph the entire ship and its passengers, especially the targeted businessmen of immense wealth resisting the temporal power of the “Infallible” Pope. To effect entry of the priest into every nook and cranny of the ocean liner, the Bishop gave a cherished “Letter of Introduction” to be presented to a staunch Irish Roman Catholic, the White Star Line’s congenial “Chief purser” of the ship, longtime fellow officer of Captain Edward Smith, Jesuit Temporal Coadjutor Hebert W. McElroy. This man had studied for the priesthood, was a member of an Order titled,” Canons Regular of the Lateran,” his brotherRichard was a priest and he had signed on the Deathship April 9th, the day before she departed Southampton: he would sacrifice his life for the Pope on the Titanic.

With the blessing of his Bishop-uncle, his brother priest William Francis, and his Jesuit Provincial master in accordance with the Constitutions of the Society of Jesus, the trusted Jesuit and theological student departs for Southampton, England. He has been under Jesuit formation for fifteen years; he is well versed in Canon Law, familiar with the Order’s immoral “Moral Theology” and of course its “accursing” Council of Trent. He most likely has been administered an oath in the Bishop’s eerie cathedral overlooking Queenstown and its harbor anticipating Titanic’s final departure for the North Atlantic; exiting the cathedral he will fulfill his mission and proceed in utmost silence following the plan of his Provincial master to the letter. He crosses the channel by ferry and boards a night train for London. Arriving in the morning at the Order’s commercial capital of the world, there he abides for the day and another night with his brother and eye specialist, Jesuit Temporal Coadjutor Dr. James Browne. After a delightful breakfast he departs at 9:45am on the “Titanic Special” from Waterloo station to Southampton arriving at 11:30am. As planned, Tom Brownrigg, another Jesuit Temporal Coadjutor under orders, is waiting for Browne at the railway station: they meet, exchange greetings and proceed to Titanic’s first class stateroom, A-37. Both inspect the dwelling, as it is now the priest’s “safe house.” The Jesuit bids his assistant adieu before Titanic departs at twelve o’clock noon. Ah! it is High Noon, the ideal time for an assassination plot to begin—and it would be repeated with the arrival of President Kennedy’s Air Force One at Love Field in Dallas, Texas, November 22, 1963.

Jesuit Browne begins the second phase of his assignment. He has the perfect cover: disguised as a man of God, he is harmless and unassuming. Proceeding to the Chief purser’s office, there enjoys the genial friendship of Herbert W. McElroy. Upon presenting the Bishop’s “Letter of Introduction,” Brother McElroy gives the Jesuit access to every inch of Titanic over the course of April 10th and 11th, 1912. Every room is photographed, every first class person is recorded and many in lower steerages were pictured, all for the benefit of the Black Pope in Rome.

The Jesuit Father Provincial (of which there are only ten for the American Empire) knows his Jesuit theological student and nephew of the Bishop under his abject control will spend two days on the Deathship taking pictures of the passengers, knowing full well their fate! All Jesuit Coadjutors will be photographed, from Captain Smith, to First Officer Murdoch, to Chief Purser McElroy, all will be recorded for posterity. After stopping at the French port in Cherbourg from which Astor boarded, the video, narrated by Hollywood actor (a pro-Bill Clinton activist having aided Janet Reno’s bid to be a Florida governor), Martin Sheen (who renamed himself after Bishop Fulton J. Sheen), another darling of the Jesuits having visited their former Novitiate of St. Isaac Jogues in Wernersville, Pennsylvania, reveals:

“A vacationing priest, Father Francis Browne caught these poignant snapshots of his fellow passengers, most of them on a voyage to eternity. The next day Titanic made her last stop, pausing off the coast of Queenstown, Ireland. Here tenders brought out the last passengers, mostly Irish immigrants headed for new homes in America. And here, the lucky Father Browne disembarked . . . Father Browne caught Captain Smith peering down from Titanic’s bridge poised on the brink of destiny . . .” {9} [Emphasis added]

Ah, the final eye contact between Captain Smith and the Jesuit in the midst of doomed Irish Roman Catholics and scores of Scandinavian Lutheran Protestants boarding the steamer is indeed “a Kodak moment.” Remembering that according to Jesuit Pietro Alagona, “it is lawful to murder the innocent,” and according to Jesuit Luis de Molina, “Priests may kill the Laity to preserve their goods,” both of these criminals were fully persuaded in their brainwashed minds that they were righteous in their mayhem. This scene portrayed with the brush of a Rembrandt or a Thomas Kinkade, would serve as a crushing rebuke to any nation that would give the religiously bombastic Sons of Loyola access to their shores.

For here is Jesuit treachery at its finest. Jesuit Browne boards Titanic, photographs the victims, most assuredly briefs Captain Smith concerning his Oath as a Jesuit, and the following morning bids him farewell. He takes a snapshot of the somber Captain peering down from the bridge along with two crewmembers probably involved in the plot, as “the lucky” Ignatian disembarks on the eleventh of April while the cheerful greetings of boarding Irishmen fall upon his ear but never reach his heart. Possibly, a little red-headed girl runs by and cries with eager optimism,

“Good morning, Father!”

A young man approaches and quietly asks:

“Will you hear my confession before I leave, Father?”

A man with his large family approaches and quietly asserts:

“You have been a good priest to us. We wish you well, Father Browne.”

And lastly comes Danny, a little orphan boy named after the great Irish ballad, Londonderry Air, who slowly limps forward, tightly holding his mother’s hand. With tears in his eyes for the love of this priest who had been a father to him while the Jesuit had taught at Belevdere College for five years, he whimpers:

“Thank you for helping me. Good-bye, Father.”

Indeed it was Good-bye—forever! Little Danny would perish amidst the horrifying pandemonium of the locked-down, helpless innocents in Titanic’s lower decks!

Dear truth-seeker, if Francis Browne had been a man, his heart would be breaking! But he, like Rodin the Jesuit of The Wandering Jew, is one of “the Borg” of Star Trek, named after a past Jesuit General, Francis Borgia, as well as the General’s present headquarters being “Borgo di Santo Spirito” in Rome. He is a Jesuit of under Extreme Oath for this mission. He is a machine in a man’s body, the perfect Manchurian Candidate to be one of the Commanders of The Engineer Corps of Hell. He would slay his own mother to further the worldwide political power of a tyrannical sinner who calls himself “the Vicar of Christ!!” But he is an orphan; he has no affectionate ties to mother and father. So he goes through his religious motions and so passes by. As the Titanic docks at Queenstown, a wealthy American passenger offers to pay for the Jesuit’s first class ticket to New York; but he knows he is forbidden. Yet to placate the “heretic,” he sends a message to his Jesuit superior requesting permission to depart. The answer returned is incriminating:

“GET OFF THAT SHIP——PROVINCIAL.” {10} [Emphasis added]

As “Father” Browne watches Titanic disappear over the horizon with a fire below in bunker number ten, he has no regrets. He knows the Provincial’s soldiers will do their duty. He also knows “the law of the Church” and, having no “fear of offense,” is convinced this crime shall be “for the greater glory of God”—the god who sits in St. Peter’s Chair! As the Deathship steams for the high seas, Bishop Browne and the Jesuit Provincial, perched on the highest point of Queenstown within the Bishop’s Cathedral overlooking the Atlantic, eagerly watch the disappearing leviathan with glee knowing the death of key men thereon will enable the Pope’s Federal Reserve Act to pass in time for the beginning of World War I: it is time for a universal Jesuit vengeance on a “heretic and liberal” Eurasia that dealt the Order its “Century of Disaster” while the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ was taken by British and American Bible-believing missionaries to the ends of the earth! Praise God!

On board the ship, the Jesuit Captain Smith knows his duty. He is under Oath. There is no recanting. The ship has been built for the enemies of the Order. He, after three days at sea, with only one pair of glasses for the bridge, propels full steam ahead—twenty-two knots—on a moonless, dark night through a gigantic ice field, nearly eighty square miles in size, despite at least eight telegrams of warning as well as many other cautions. He refuses to listen. Hell-bent on destruction, upon approaching the iceberg, First Officer William M. Murdoch—another conspirator— has been instructed by the Captain what to do. He orders the engines to be thrown in reverse while swinging the ship sharply to the left, its starboard side. Had the captain not reversed his engines the Titanic would have turned much more quickly the greater the forward motion. This error was a violation of one of the cardinal rules of safety, which is to never turn a ship’s broadside to danger! (Are we to believe that Captain Smith, the master of his profession, would make such a basic blunder in addition to steaming full speed ahead through the up-and-coming icebergs he had been warned about? Obviously, he wanted to break the ship in half! This is nothing more than a repeat of Napoleon’s performance at Waterloo and Hitler’s stage play in Russia— both dictators deliberately sacrificing their armies—, and a preview of the violation of the most basic rules of security in Dallas, Texas, in 1963 resulting in President Kennedy’s death.) Titanic grazes the iceberg at 11:40pm, April fourteenth. Knowing full well the ship’s inadequate number of lifeboats and the crew having no boat assignments in case of an emergency evacuation, Captain Smith walks back to the radio room and instructs his officer to send a CQD; then later, an SOS. Smith, the Jesuit Coadjutor, has fulfilled his intended purpose in obedience to his Jesuit master, “Father” Francis M. Browne’s Jesuit Provincial, pursuant to the Jesuit Oath.

Amid the innocence of its passengers the brutal crew begins to evacuate the ship. But the Jewish multi-millionaires Astor, Guggenheim and Straus are forbidden to board a lifeboat. A few hours later in the midst of horror and panic, with the musicians playing the inspirational Protestant hymn of the Welsh people, Nearer My God To Thee, the Titanic splits in half, plunging to the bottom of the ocean along with over fifteen hundred souls. Astor’s young second wife survives and the Jesuits most likely acquire the use of her fortune through their “Money Trust” in obedience to their Secret Instructions. (Did not the Jesuits benefit when Harvard’s Widener Library was built with a donation from Titanic survivor, Eleanor Widener? Did not both her husband George and son Harry perish in the disaster, leaving her in charge of the largest fortune in Roman Catholic Philadelphia? Did not the Jesuits benefit by eliminating Astor, Guggenheim and Straus as they were in agreement with the Jewish American Supreme Court Justice, Louis Brandeis, in opposing the passage of the Order’s Federal Reserve Act? Of Brandeis’ opposition we observe:

“In mid-November 1910, several members of the Aldrich Commission went down to the Millionaire’s Club at Jekyll Island, probably courtesy of Morgan, to work out a specific plan. The expedition included Aldrich, Davison, Vanderlip, Warburg, A. Platt Andrew, and [Irish Roman Catholic] Ben Strong, now a vice president at Bankers Trust [dubbed “the Morgan man” who, as president of the New York Fed, contributed to the Order’s Stock Market Crash of 1929]. . . . Over the next two weeks, these men drew up plans for a national system of regional banks led by a central board of private bankers [the Federal Reserve Banking System]. . . . The Democratic Congress did not agree, and over the next two years [bring us to 1912 and the sinking of Titanic] it rejected the ‘Aldrich plan’ as giving too much power to private banks. When the Federal Reserve Act finally passed in December 1913, it provided for a governing board in Washington, appointed by the President, to represent the public interest.* . . .

*Woodrow Wilson thought this mix of public and private interests would give government the upper hand and effectively turn banks into ‘the instruments, not the masters, of business and of individual enterprise and initiative.’ Louis Brandeis disagreed, claiming that there could be no compromise with the devil—that ‘Concessions to the big-business interests must in the end prove futile.’ ” {11} [Emphasis added]

Was not J. P. Morgan—the “infallible” Pope’s financial agent within the American Empire and the man who lured these Jews onto the Titanic—the true sponsor of the Federal Reserve Act with his “Aldrich Commission?” Was not “Bonesman” and 33rd Degree Freemason President William Howard Taft—the servant of Archbishop James Cardinal Gibbons and the former dictator over the Philippines, as well as the betrayer of his military aide, Major Archibald Butt, having sacrificed him on Titanic—an avid supporter of the Federal Reserve Act, urging the country to “take up seriously the problem of establishing a central bank,” according to Jean Strouse in her masterpiece, Morgan: American Financier ?)

This leads the author to believe there were more than two Jesuits on board the Deathship. There were probably at least ten of the ship’s officers and crew who were “Professed” and under “Extreme Oath.” There were possibly several Knights of Columbus under the Oath of the Fourth Degree, as well as a few Freemasons loyal to the mark “IHS”—the seal of the Black Pope! This explains why Jesuit Browne, the direct agent of his Jesuit Provincial and trusted nephew of the local Irish Bishop would personally board the vessel! He must have leisurely finalized the plan with his soldiers charging this select group of the ship’s yeomen—hired at the last minute as a result of a contrived strike in England—that upon Jesuit Captain Smith’s order to abandon ship, to quickly lower the inadequate number of lifeboats, less than half full with only women and children, into the water while forbidding the men—selected moneyed targets—from boarding. The poorer passengers within the lower levels were to be locked down so as to prevent the Order’s wealthy victims from escaping its watchful eye and possibly boarding a lifeboat amidst the hysteria and confusion on deck. (Jesuit Captain Smith’s deliberate sinking of Titanic was a preview to the sinking of the doomed U.S.S. Indianapolis overseen by the Order’s CFR member and Commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Chester William Nimitz, along with several devious subordinates including Captain Oliver Naquin. The ship’s captain and “patsy,” Captain Charles B. McVay III, having been the Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee of the combined Chiefs of Staff in Washington, D.C., must have known too much and was to be “silenced.” But Captain McVay survived one of the greatest disasters in the history of the American Navy. Predictably, in 1968, unable to cope any longer with his mental agony, the innocent and good Captain took his life, to the shame and disgrace of the High Command of the U.S. Navy controlled by the Black Pope via his Knights of Malta and high-level Freemasons!) To prevent nearby freighters from responding with help, the distress flares were seen to be white (party time!) when they should have normally been red! It was for this reason that only one of the lifeboats returned to retrieve those freezing in the darkness, as the temperature of those waters was only twenty-eight degrees! Like the “selections” at Auschwitz, those “selected” to board the lifeboats would live. The rest, on the ship or in the water, must die the death including several Jesuits, Masons and possibly Knights of Columbus or Catholic Action, including Jesuit Temporal Coadjutors Smith, Murdoch and McElroy.

This leads us to another question. Who owned the White Star Line? For, its management was ultimately responsible for choosing the men who would man the ship. And with the money involved in financing those luxury liners (Titanic, Britannic and Olympic), only select Knights of Malta and the modern day Knights Templar—select Shriner Freemasons—

The Knights knew that the Hebrews of both the American and British Empires had never suffered formal persecution for over two hundred years, and as a result, invested their wealth in great industries bringing financial prosperity to both Protestant peoples. About the time of Titanic the renowned composer Gustav Mahler, directing the Vienna Court Opera and having composed his immortal and magnificent Symphony No. 5 “Adagietto,” abandoned Roman Catholic Austria and settled in New York City in 1909 to enjoy Protestant liberty while conducting the New York Philharmonic—as a Jew. This evil and sinister man, then operating one of the largest banks in the world, would be responsible for the suppression of Nikola Tesla’s brilliant inventions including worldwide free energy. According to Antony C. Sutton in his Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution, after Morgan’s death in 1913 a portion of his massive wealth invested with the American International Corporation (AIC) in New York (now the American International Group (AIG) headed by a CFR Honorary Vice Chairman and Director, Maurice R. Greenberg) would finance the Bolshevik Revolution—that Jesuit Inquisition in Orthodox Russia! According to an Arts and Entertainment documentary video, this J. P. Morgan, his International Mercantile Marine (IMM) having financed the White Star Line and thus the building of Titanic, had designed a cabin specially furnished and reserved for himself (suite B52, previously assigned to steel baron Henry C. Frick), his promised presence serving as bait for those marked for death. And at the last moment just prior to the Titanic’s departure from Southampton, this spiritual bastard cancelled his reservation (citing ill health) in addition to fifty-four other men of wealth or power, but with inside information {12}, abandoned his friend and president of IMM, J. Bruce Ismay (the disgraced American scapegoat who later was fired from his job after managing to survive his intended death by jumping into a lifeboat), and returned to New York on another ship. We wonder if Bishop Browne and Freemasonic Morgan threw a party and toasted the Temporal Power of the “infallible” Pope as they viewed the Jesuit priest’s pictures of the murdered men of wealth and power, the net worth of Titanic’s passengers being over five hundred million dollars in 1912! In fact, of J. P. Morgan’s obvious gaiety while “recuperating” after the world’s worst maritime disaster, we read:

“Morgan, it will be recalled, pleaded illness as his excuse for not joining the ship’s first and last voyage. Two days after the Titanic sank, he was found by the American press at the Grand Hotel in the French spa of Aix-les- Bains, where he was taking the waters. He was in excellent health and the company of his French mistress.” {13} [Emphasis added]

Another high-level Freemason who also “cancelled” his reservation on the Titanic was Milton Hershey, Pennsylvania’s chocolate king! He had much to gain, as American soldiers would be issued “Hershey chocolate” on which they would fight the Jesuits’ Second Thirty Years’ War, bankrolled by their Federal Reserve Bank. Other White Masonic Gentiles who “cancelled” their reservations at the last minute were Robert Bacon (Morgan’s former business associate), Henry C. Frick (America’s steel baron), and George W. Vanderbilt (America’s railroad and shipping tycoon whose family’s 1895 “Breakers” mansion facing the Atlantic Ocean in Newport, Rhode Island is now controlled by the Order via the Knights of Malta).

As usual, the Sons of Loyola got away with mass-murder and grand theft once again, as their power in the American and British Empires was controlling. In spite of a most revealing Senate hearing at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel, the formal palace for all of the Archbishop’s dinner parties; not a soul was prosecuted!

“The Senate’s investigation, and another by the British Board of Trade, found an appalling series of human and technical errors, but brought no charges against Ismay or the IMM. . . . private damage claims against White Star amounting to $16 million were eventually settled out of court in 1916 for $664,000.” {14} [Emphasis added]

Further, concerning American Senator William Alden Smith’s “investigation” we read and are reminded of the fictional Warren Commission:

“In this most important case, given Smith’s anti-trust posture and his claim to independence at the outset, his investigation was a cover-up, and the attack on the British in part a diversion. The masking of American involvement in the considerable person of J. P. Morgan and his almighty interests was a lie by omission.” {15} [Emphasis added]

There is another victim of this plot usually overlooked and yet a most famous man who perished on the Deathship. He was an English Mason, William T. Stead, the journalist who exposed the Company’s traffic in English prostitutes. Described as: “Scholar; dreamer; humanitarian; the greatest and most notable man on board the Titanic. . . . famous all over the world. . . . the personal friend of more living and dead monarchs than any private citizen on earth,” we marvel at his apparent courage:

“London was rotten with the leprosy of white slavery. Nobles, members of parliament, dukes, lords, all were in a great traffic in young girls . . . [Spiritualist] William T. Stead saw and knew. . . . Stead had found indisputable evidence of what he wished to prove. He knew that power was against him, that money was against him, and that corruption was against him. . . . Bit by bit he gathered his testimony, name after name was secured, and then, one morning in 1885, the blow that changed England’s morals . . . fell. London awoke to stare, to gasp. Stead had called his exposure, ‘The Maiden Tribute to Babylon,’ and there was truth to back every statement. Stead was arrested. He was thrown into prison on the charge that he had committed an infraction of the laws. But he only smiled. He knew that he had won, that parliament would be forced to pass a law that would wipe out the white slavery. And parliament did.” {16} [Emphasis added]

The sinking of the Titanic was not only necessary in establishing the Order’s Federal Reserve Bank, it was the beginning of the destruction of America’s real economic wealth, so characteristic of Bible-reading, hard working, moral, inventive, courageous, ruggedly individualistic, White Middle Class, Protestant nations. If the Order was to succeed in its Counter-Reformation attack on the West, private wealth must be cleverly taken from Protestants and given to the Order’s Papal Knights and occult Masons intending to rule corporate America. Of this coveted and yet detested Protestant economic prosperity, evident not only in America under President McKinley, but in England during the reign of Queen Victoria, we read in 1899:

This horrible tragedy, rivaling Shakespeare’s King Lear, could have been prevented, had both the British and American governments been doing their biblical duty of punishing evil! Had the English Crown expelled the Jesuits and Knights of Malta even as Queen Elizabeth I had done in the Sixteenth Century, and had the Masonic Lodges been closed even as Cromwell had done in the Seventeenth Century, the heartbroken Irish Catholics and Protestants, whose sons and daughters were sacrificed by Ireland’s Jesuit master—Francis M. Browne—would have never shed their Titanic tears over lost loved ones, further staining the pages of Irish history. Ah, beware of the ides of April! Titanic was sunk on April fifteenth, the same day Lincoln had called out troops on the Protestant South, the same day Lincoln died at the hand of his Jesuit-controlled assassin, and the same day all Fourteenth Amendment citizen-serfs of the Jesuit General’s “Holy Roman” American Empire make their annual “confessions” to the Pope’s privately-owned Internal Revenue Service pursuant to the Fourth Lateran Council of 1215 ruled by demon-possessed Pope Innocent III. Casey, refused to retaliate against the Soviets, Casey knowing full well the aircraft had been fitted for destruction at Andrews AFB with a radio-activated bomb; that KAL 007 was blown up by a nearby U.S. Intelligence station and sunk 400 miles south of the official wreckage area killing 269 innocents? Was it not a coincidence that John F. Kennedy, Jr. “lost control” of his aircraft (having had its tail internally blown off) and plunged into the Atlantic Ocean, killing his wife and sister-in-law (all three bodies being full of shrapnel according to Cincinnati radio host and Baptist Pastor Ernie Sanders), as he sought to find his father’s real killer? As a possible U.S. Senator from New York, a multimillionaire, a successful publisher and loved by the people, he would have solved “the crime of the century.” These are no accidents! Through such tragedies, like the deliberate sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis during World War II, the Jesuit Order benefited and had the power to cover it up with their key men responsible for investigating the murders. Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, make sure you have pen and paper because

I'm going to explain to you something that you weren't aware of, but

that you should be aware of.  It will demonstrate the degree of

propaganda and preparation that those who are bringing about the New

World Order are engaged in, in order to prepare the public.  And a good

portion of it, ladies and gentlemen, is aimed directly at the children

of the world.

If you took your children to see "The Lion King", you will be especially

interested in tonight's broadcast; for tonight I'm going to give you the

true meaning of that movie.  And I'm going to tell you exactly what was

taught to your children.  Even though they may not realize it, even

though they may not understand it at their tender age, and even though

most of the parents in the world who have attended the showing of "The

Lion King" had no idea whatsoever what it was that they were watching,

tonight you're going to find out.  And when you do find out, I can

assure you most of you will be angry.

Unless you understand the symbolic meaning of The Mysteries and the

Walt Disney was a very famous Anglophile who was in bed with the FBI and

the intelligence community, and spied for most of his life on his fellow

movie-makers in Hollywood.

We know that in 1958, for one year, there was a colloquium of the

greatest scientific minds in the United States gathered over several

meetings during that year to discuss the exploration and colonization of

the moon and Mars.  At every one of those meetings were representatives

of the Walt Disney Studios.

Now, you may not really understand what this is all about yet.  But I

can assure you, before tonight is over, you'll understand at least a

part of it.

I'll get this right sooner or later.  I'm going to read some verses to

you, ladies and gentlemen, from Genesis, Chapter 4.

I want you to pay close attention, and I want you to understand that I

don't necessarily subscribe to everything that you're going to hear

tonight as my personal beliefs.  I'm just going to tell you the message

in "The Lion King".  Whether you believe it or not is up to you.  But

the people who are bringing about the New World Order believe it, I can

assure you.

The opposing forces engaged in this battle all agree that they will have

a one-world government.  The only point of contention is which one of

these opposing forces will sit upon the throne of the world.

One believes that they are protecting, and will hold forth, a king

descended from the House of David and thus related directly by blood to

Jesus Christ.  He will hold the titles of the King of Jerusalem and Holy

Roman Emperor.  He will be a direct descendant of the Merovingian

bloodline of the kings of France.

One of the others is to believe to be the direct bloodline descendants

of Cain.  And they plan to seat their king upon the throne of the world.

And then, of course, there is the Vatican which, I guarantee you, will

be one or the other of the first two when all the dust has settled.

I read from Chapter 4 of Genesis.  And, just so you'll understand the

difference in names, this is from the "Restoration of Original Sacred

Name Bible"--not because I think this Bible is any better than any

other, but because, in preparation for this show, this was the Bible

that I grabbed off the shelf, and it's exactly the same as every other

Bible that most of you are familiar with except for one thing:  it has

revised the names to reflect the original pronunciation and meaning.

I'm going to start in Chapter 4, Genesis, Verse 8.

said, I know not:  the keeper of my brother am I?

Verse 10:  And he said, What hast thou done?  With a voice the shed

blood of thy brother is crying out to me from the ground.

Verse 11:  Now therefore cursed art thou from the ground which hath

opened her mouth to receive the shed blood of thy brother at thy hand.

Verse 12:  Though thou till the ground, it shall not go on to give its

vigor to thee.  A wanderer and a fugitive shalt thou be in the earth.

Verse 13:  And Cain said unto Yahweh, Greater is my punishment than I

can bear.

Verse 14:  Lo, thou hast driven me out this day from off the face of the

ground and from thy face shall I be hid; so shall I become a wonderer

and a fugitive in the earth, and it shall come to pass whosoever findeth

me will slay me.

Verse 15:  And Yahweh said to him, Not so.  Whosoever slayeth Cain,

sevenfold shall it be avenged.  So Yahweh set for Cain a sign that none

finding him should smite him.

Verse 16:  So Cain went forth from the presence of Yahweh and dwelt in

the land of Nod, eastward of Eden.

And that's where I stop at this portion and I, in the interest of time,

will explain to you some of the rest of the story.

According to the beliefs of the Secret Societies -- but NOT according

to the Biblical geneologies listed in Genesis, Chapters 5 and 10 -- one

of the direct descendants of Cain was a man named Nimrod.  According to

the Bible, Nimrod was a descendant of Ham, the son of Noah, who was of

the line of Seth.  But Secret Society beliefs ascribe to Nimrod the

lineage of Cain.

A man named Nimrod.  Nimrod, ladies and gentlemen, set up the first

civilization, became the first king in what was known as the Golden

Age.  He built the Tower of Babel.  He brought together all the

different religions and melded them with politics.  He was indeed the

first king.

He had a college in Babylon--for that was the city that he built.  This

college was the first Lodge of what is now known as Freemasonry.

Indeed, if you read the books written by prominent Freemasons throughout

the history of Freemasonry, they refer to Nimrod as the first Grand

Master of the First Lodge, and that he loved Freemasons, and had many

hundred Freemasons under his rule.

In Genesis, Chapter 49, Verse 9, listen carefully as I quote:

[Genesis 49:9-12]

Verse 9:  A lion's whelp is Judah:  from the prey, my son, hast thou

come up.  He hath stooped, hath crouched as a lion or as a lioness:  who

shall rouse him?

Verse 10:  The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor the commander's

staff from between his feet, until that he come in as a Shiloh, and his

be the obedience of the peoples.

Verse 11:  Binding to the vine his ass; unto the choice vines his ass's

colt.  He hath washed in wine his raiment, and in the blood of grapes

his mantle.

Verse 12:  Darker his eyes than wine, whiter his teeth than milk.

And that is where I stop reading there.

In "The Lion King", the first scene is the rising sun in the east.  The

rising sun in the east.  And the sky is golden, setting the stage for

the Golden Age for the ancient peoples--the ancient city, the ancient

kingdom--which all the secret societies say they will return the world

to very shortly.  The Golden Age:  the age that, in reality, ladies and

gentlemen, never existed.  But it exists in their minds, and it is a way

to manipulate these people to work toward that worldly utopian dream.

And you see, all the animals are coming from everywhere.  All the

different animals--denoting the different races--to pay homage at Pride

Rock.  All throughout the history of all the religions, there is the

rock that was present at the foundation of the world.

"...upon this rock I build my church;...."    [Matthew 16:18]

Under the throne of the Queen of England there is a rock.  The

importance of Pride Rock is evident.

Pride Rock is in the east, for indeed, the sun rises behind it.  In the

east, sits the Master of the Lodge.  Pride Rock is in the shape of a

pyramid.  It also represents the Ziggurat, or Tower of Babel.

And a great commotion is heard:  something is happening.  And all of the

animals from the plains of Africa gather around this rock.

Remember at Mecca:  all of the Islamic followers go to Mecca to march in

circles, circumambulate around a rock.

It seems that a baby is born, a new prince, a Lion Cub that will

eventually become the King.  This Lion Cub is handed over to what

appears to be a baboon or a monkey, but it is not, I assure you.  And

this baboon or this monkey does not represent the black race, but rather

represents the eastern influence in religion.

In this case, as in all cases with these people, it is very akin to

theosophy.  And this is borne out later in the movie, as you shall soon

see.

The King, the Lion King, does not take his newly-born Cub and hold it up

for all to see.  Instead, he hands the King, the new-born Cub, the new

King--who, of course, will not be King until the old lion is dead--over

to this monkey who represents the priesthood.

And this is significant.  What they are saying is that the King really

does not hold the power, for he handed his son to the Priest.  The

monkey, of course, is the Priest. The Priest is the one who marches to

the end of the rock and holds the Lion Cub up for all to see.

And remember, the Priest represents the religions of the east.

One of the recognition keys to Freemasons is if someone suspects you're

a Freemason, they might ask you if you are a traveling man:  do you do

much traveling?  If you don't know the proper response, they'll know

that you're not a Freemason, or a member of the Rose Cross Order, or

many of the others who exist under many different names, but at the top,

all are the same.

But if you are, you would answer:  "Yes, as a matter of fact, I have

done some traveling in the east."

And you might be asked at that point, "What is it that you seek?  Why

are you traveling in the east?"

And the answer would be:  "To find the source of illumination."

So, this is significant.  You then realize that the brother of the King

did not attend this ceremony, and he is to be admonished for this.  Who

is this brother?

Well, you notice that the Lion King--not the Cub, but the older lion--is

golden, beautiful, magnificent, strong.

His brother is dark, weak, cowardly, and impotent.  His brother also has

something very significant in this film:  a scar over his left eye.  And

indeed, it is the mark of Cain, according to these people who believe

all of these things.

And Cain is jealous of his brother, who is the King, saying that he

should have been the King.  He has all the brains.  His brother, the

King, has all the brawn and doesn't deserve it.  Is that correct?  Well,

it doesn't matter.  That's what the movie portrays.

If you know anything about the Arthurian legends, the legends of the

Holy Grail, you know that this Dark Lion also represents the Fisher

King, who was wounded in the thigh--or, as some accounts have it,

between the thighs.  And you know that he is doomed if he ever takes the

seat.

Oh, yes.  This movie is full of symbolism and it tells the old story,

and it tells what's happening in the world today, and what is to come,

and is a message.  And it's being taught to your children, and you're

the ones who took them to see it.

Now remember, Pride Rock is in the east, for the sun rose behind it.  It

is the seat of the Master of the Lodge.

And we quickly learn that the land in the north is barren and no one

lives there--or at least we are led to believe--for it is an evil

place.  And in the Lodge, no one sits in the north, for the north is

said to be the place of darkness. And in the movie, this land in the

north is the place of darkness.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, I'm not reading from a script.  I'm telling

you what I know from out of my head.

Scar, the Dark Lion, the lion which represents Cain, sends the new-born

Cub, by deception and trickery, off into the north where he almost loses

his life.  For the north, indeed, is fearful and evil.  It is the land

wherein dwells the hyenas.

The hyenas are the enemies of the lions, and indeed, of the entire

kingdom.  And when you hear these hyenas talking, you immediately

discern that they represent the black and hispanic races.  There's no

doubt about it, ladies and gentlemen.  And the intent is clear.  They

represent the black and hispanic races, and because they dwell in the

north, the place of darkness, the movie conveys to your children that

they are evil, and bad, and dangerous, and ignorant, and stupid--as they

are portrayed in this movie.

The Young Lion barely escapes with his life, but he does escape.  And

Scar makes a pact with the hyenas.  He tells them that if they will side

with him, he will kill the King, his brother, and he will rule in his

stead.  And the hyenas, of course, agree to this, because he promises

them that they will never be hungry again.

Now, one of the things that you must understand is that the Golden Age

is portrayed brilliantly here.  The kingdom is full of lush growth,

vegetation, all of the animals are happy and fat.  There is no strife in

the kingdom, except the ill will between the Lion King and his brother,

Scar--which is to say that as the world existed then was the best that

has ever been...which is another lie.  For this nation, the United

States of America, is--or was, I should say, until recently--the best

that had ever been.

I hope you understand the significance of what you're learning, and the

significance of what was taught to your children as they sat watching

"The Lion King".

You see a romance blossom between the Young Lion and a Young Lioness

that promises fulfillment, promises a fertile kingdom, promises that the

future will be just as good as the present.

Indeed, the birth of the Young Lion in the beginning of the movie is an

expression of the overabundance, the cornucopia, of Babylon, the

fertility of the land and of the kingdom.  Plenty for all.  And what

happens?

What happens, ladies and gentlemen, is incredible; for it follows

exactly the same old story that has existed throughout the history of

the world, that has been used over and over again to manipulate peoples,

and nations, and kingdoms; and divide and conquer.  And to promise

things that cannot be delivered to those who will faithfully follow the

manipulators--the puppet masters--those who pull the strings.

This is all being taught to your children.

The hyenas and Scar set up the situation that will result in the death

of the Lion King and, as Scar has planned it, the death of the Young

Lion also.

Under a pretext--another lie, another deception--Scar takes the Young

Lion out into a gorge and sets him on a rock--again, there is the

rock--sets him upon a rock under a tree.  Under a tree.

You see, in those days, all sacrifices were performed upon a rock under

a tree.  Sometimes it was an elm; sometimes it was an oak; sometimes it

was something else.  And if you know the old story of Isis and Osiris,

then you know that the acacia tree was one of them.

But the Young Lion is placed upon a rock under a tree.  And the hyenas

have assembled the herds at the head of the gorge, and of course, there

is no way out.

Scar then goes to tell the Lion King that his son is in danger and tells

him where he's at.  And the Lion King runs off to save his son from

whatever danger there is.  And then the stampede is started.  Up the

gorge comes the huge herd of the plains animals, back into this box

canyon with no way out.

The Lion, at this point, represents the sun which dies at sunset.

Osiris who was killed by his brother Tiphon <sp?>, also called Set,

Osiris represented the sun.

The Lion also represents Abel.  He represents the sacrificed King.

He represents John F. Kennedy who was slain at the point where the sun

was at the most high point in the Temple of the Sun in Dealey Plaza, in

the presence of an obelisk in a reflecting pool in the four corners of

an architectural rendering similar to Stonehenge.  Dealey Plaza:  shaped

like the truncated pyramid with the capstone missing.  The eye, indeed,

is the underpass under the railroad overpass.  All of these things have

been portrayed, and represented, and foretold throughout the history of

the world by every different people and every different religion.  It is

the old cosmology.

The Lion King is trampled to death, just about.  His son escapes.  And

his son watches as the Lion King valiantly tries one last time to escape

from the stampede, and as he is hanging by his claws, literally, from

the edge of the gorge, his brother, Scar, knocks him off.

Cain slays Abel.

The sun sets.

Osiris is killed by his brother, Tiphon <sp?>--the august body of The

Mysteries.

Have you ever heard a senator stand up and talk about "this august

body"?  Anyone who makes that statement represents the lineage in this

story, if you believe it.

Remember, I'm telling you the meaning of all this.  It does not

necessarily mean that I believe it, or that you should believe it.  It's

just what they believe.  And if they believe it and they have the power,

it will affect us, I can assure you.

The Lion King falls down and is trampled by the herd.

The Young Lion, thinking that he is the cause of his father's death, and

realizing that there is no way he can explain this to his mother, The

Widow--and he is the Widow's Son--he leaves the kingdom.

In the Bible and in history, it's represented by Seth, who conquers

Babylon with an army and scatters Nimrod's college across the world.

Across the world.

It is also represented by the scattering of the tribes of Israel.

The slain King represents the Lost Word--that which was lost, the

doctrine.

The Widow represents the Church--the Church.

The Young Lion, who leaves the kingdom, represents the scattered

college.  He is, in fact, the full body of initiates.

Where does he go, folks?

He goes out into the world:  lonely, without companions, without a place

to go, without anyone to belong to.  And he wanders until he finds two

other outcasts:  one, a little lemur--if you don't know what a lemur is,

look it up in an animal book or an encyclopedia and you'll see a picture

of one--a little lemur that talks exactly--exactly--like a Jewish man

from New York is imagined to talk, and is parodied in many different

ways.  And I'm not saying that it's a correct parody, but it is the way

this little lemur talks.

And the other is a warthog, which represents all the down-trodden, ugly

outcasts, the nerds, the people that have no place in the world, the

handicapped.  And they form a union.  They come together.

Of course, the little Jewish lemur represents the Cabala influence on

The Mysteries.

The Young Lion King represents the full body of initiates.  He is the

child Horus.

And the warthog represents all those who do not feel any allegiance or

loyalty to any other body who have joined this union, hoping that, in

the end, they will be vindicated and will have their place in the sun.

In the sun.

And they wander about in the wilderness, seeking the Promised Land--oh,

yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is really something. And of course, they

are persecuted and attacked.  And the Young Lion fights off the

attackers and protects the other two.

This, traditionally, has been the Kingdom of England--Great

Britain--which is represented by a lion.

This outcast trio represents British Israelism.

The Queen of England is called by The Mysteries "The Queen of

Babylon"--and it's about time you knew that also.

And they come across the Young Lioness and he falls in love, this Young

Lion, and she keeps telling him:  "Remember who you are."

And the monkey shows up and keeps telling him:  "Remember who you are."

And you hear it every night on WWCR following this broadcast and on many

other broadcasts where some rabid preacher is exhorting to the white

race:  "Remember who you are.  You are the real Israelites.  The world

belongs to you."

Listen after I sign off tonight.  You will hear it, ladies and

gentlemen, I assure you.  "Remember who you are."

And this monkey Priest and the Young Lioness keep urging him to go back

and claim his rightful kingship, for he is the True King, they tell

him.  He is the descendant of the Dead King.  And they tell him that the

Dead King lives on in him.  And they tell him to look into a reflecting

pool to see, and there he is looking back at the Young Lion--his father

in himself--for he is the genetic duplication, representing the white

race.

And what's being taught to your children, ladies and gentlemen--and

shame on you for taking them to see these things which you have not

assessed the meaning of prior.

And the King says, "No, I cannot because of my past.  I cannot.  I'm

afraid.  They'll know who I am and they'll know what I did," --talking

about the bad things that existed in Babylon.  He does not want to

reveal who he is.

And the monkey Priest, representing the religious philosophy of the

east, smacks him upside the head with his staff.  And the Lion King

says, "Ouch!  Ouch!  Why did you do that?"

He says, "It doesn't matter.  It's in your past."

And all of a sudden the Young King understands.  And so he says he will

go back.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch--and remember, when this pact was made

between Scar, the Dark Lion, and the hyenas--the Dark Lion representing

Cain, and the hyenas representing the race of Cain--when they made this

pact, and when the Dark Lion ascends to the throne of the kingdom, it

happens on the pinnacle of an obelisk.  And the crescent moon surrounds

his head.

And this branch of The Mysteries, ladies and gentlemen, represents

Marxism, Communism, the Soviet Union, all of these things.  The French

Grand Orient Lodge of Freemasonry.

And while this Young Lion was out wandering in the wilderness with his

two friends, representing the Jewish people and the warthog--it actually

doesn't represent the Jewish people because the Jewish people don't know

any more than the Protestant people or anyone else, but it does

represent the Jewish branch of The Mysteries which is B'nai B'rith and

the Cabala--don't go out an persecute Jews because they're no different

than any of you, believe me.

Back at the ranch, the kingdom is dying.  All of the green trees die,

all of the grass dies.

The Dark Lion--representing Cain, also representing the Fisher King who

is wounded between the thighs--has laid waste to the kingdom.

What was his sin, ladies and gentlemen?  His sin was the mixing of the

races, according to these people.

Remember, Walt Disney was a very famous Anglophile.  It was many years

before a black person was ever hired by Disneyland, or any of Walt

Disney's organizations, or businesses.

There was no food.  The pastures dried up.  The trees died.  The kingdom

became as the north--barren and wasted.  Barren and wasted.  And the

Young Lion King sings a song about he cannot wait to become the King,

and set everything straight.

And he goes back and there is a tremendous battle between the Young King

and Scar, and the hyenas, and the young Jewish lemur, and the warthog,

and some other allies that showed up at the last moment.  And there you

see the fires raging, burning everywhere.

That is why you saw fire in Waco.

That is why you saw fire with the Move Group in Philadelphia.

That is why you saw fire with the Symbionese Liberation Army when they

were burned.

That's why you saw fire during the Inquisition years as they burned

their enemies at the stake.

What is represented here is evil on all sides involved.  The poor,

ignorant sheeple of the world who don't know what this means, or how the

battle is being raged, or what it's all about are always the casualties.

But the Young Lion wins.  And when he wins, he marries the Lioness that

he fell in love with.  And the trees sprout, and the plain is lush with

grass, and all the animals are happy and have the food.

And you can see they are all separated according to kind.  They are no

longer mixed.

And the kingdom blossoms.  The sun rises again and the New Age is reborn

as the old Golden Age returned to the earth.

And the warthog and the little lemur, representing the Jews, are happy

finally and have their place in the sun.  They're exalted.

And it's teaching the children that there is looming before them the

dawn of a New Age, a return to the Golden Age, where the races will once

again be separated, and the Tower of Babel, represented by Pride Rock,

will be rebuilt in the east.

And all of this under your noses.

You took your children to see this movie, not understanding exactly what

it was that you were watching.  But now you know, and now there is no

excuse, and you should explain all this to your children and explain to

them what a terrible thing it is.

I don't care which side of this you're on.

Both sides represent evil.  Evil incarnate.  They are liars; they are

deceivers; they are manipulators.  And they manipulate with old stories

made up many, many years ago to pacify wandering tribes in the desert

and keep their lineage pure; because in those days it was necessary.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is no longer necessary.  But it is used as a

tool of manipulation.

No one was around in those ancient days to tell who killed who, or

what's what, or who's descended from where.  And I'm not telling you

that your Bible is wrong.  I am telling you that all of this has been

used to manipulate and control people throughout the history of the

world.

And that's what you need to understand.  And until you understand it and

stop being manipulated by it, you will always be one of the innocent

victims in this battle.  For you are not part of the power structure,

and you are of no consequence to any of these people on either side.

They care not whether you live or die, or what your suffering is.  They

only care that they mount the throne of power; that they destroy all

existing nations, all existing religions, and create a one-world,

totalitarian, socialist government which they will rule.

To you, it is known as the Beast.

The number of the Beast is 666, which represents all those initiates who

have gone through the three degrees in six acts:  the three degrees of

The Mysteries, The Mystery Religion of Babylon.  The wars between the

Vatican, between Scarlet, and between the Beast.

And they all agree there will be a one-world government.  The only point

of contention is who will sit upon the throne of the world.

If you want to play their game, and buy into their deceptions, and help

them achieve this, you will always be their slave, no matter what side

you are on and no matter who is the victor.  And you will make their

shoes, and you will plow their fields, and you will play their football

games for their amusement.  And you will keep your mouth shut on certain

subjects, and you will do as you are told or you will just, very simply,

ladies and gentlemen, cease to exist.

The brainwashing of your children has been going on for quite some time,

right under your nose, and you don't even know it.  And it's about time

you learned it, and it's about time you do something about it.

And understand this--the brainwashing is strong.  It is strong.  And it

plays on the emotions.  And it feels good.  It is such a great deception

that even the elect shall be deceived.  Don't fall for it.

Good night, ladies and gentlemen.   I hope you can sleep well tonight,

Blankman is a 1994 American superhero comedy parody film directed by Mike Binder and written by Damon Wayans and J. F. Lawton.[3][4] The film stars Wayans, David Alan Grier, Robin Givens, Jon Polito, and Jason Alexander. Its plot follows a repairman who is inspired to become a superhero after his grandmother is murdered in a mob hit.

Blankman was released in the United States by Sony Pictures Releasing on August 19, 1994. The film received negative reviews from critics.

Plot

As kids, Darryl and Kevin Walker grew up as fans of the television series Batman. Now grown, Darryl is a clumsy, nerdy repairman, while his brother Kevin is a tabloid news cameraman. They both live with their grandmother, who is an avid supporter of Alderman Marvin HARRIS, a politician from their neighborhood running for mayor on an anti-corruption platform. Kevin is interested in getting out of making tabloids and doing a serious story about mobster Michael "The Suit" Minelli, but his attempts to do so are shot down by his boss, Larry Stone, a perverted tabloid news junkie. Darryl is overly optimistic and almost childishly naive to the harsh realities of living in the inner city (such as the crackhouse next door), but is a brilliant inventor, having constructed a mobile robot assistant named J-5, among other creations.

One night, after HARRIS wins acclaim by publicly refusing a bribe from Minelli, Grandma Walker is murdered by the mobster's henchmen at HARRIS's campaign headquarters. The murder opens Darryl's eyes to the urban decay around him and he begins to fight crime by boldly saving an elderly transit passenger from being mugged, but overreaches by storming the crackhouse next door to rebuke the gang members. He then decides to become a vigilante superhero, using his technical expertise to create weapons and gadgets in particular, a substance which renders ordinary clothing bulletproof for his crime-fighting crusade, all to the annoyance of Kevin.

After Darryl is nearly killed trying to protect a citizen on the street and is arrested by the cops who ridiculed him after he demanded to see the police commissioner, Kevin takes Darryl to see a psychiatrist. It doesn't work in Kevin's favor, as Darryl denies being a superhero and puts the blame on Kevin, whom the psychiatrist then attempts to psychoanalyze. Kevin changes his mind and goes along with the fantasy, believing that it's Darryl's way to cope with the murder of their grandmother, but under the guidance of starting a neighborhood watch instead. When a girl tells them of a pregnant woman trapped in an elevator, Darryl arrives as his superhero alter-ego. Upon delivering the baby, he is surrounded by many, including reporters. Asking for his name, Darryl just stares Kevin says he's gone blank, which everyone interprets as his name: Blankman.

Over time, Darryl uses his Blankman identity to protect various community members, build up a reputation, and inspire not only the town's citizens but other real-life superheroes. One person interested in him is Kimberly Jonz, a fellow reporter whom Kevin hopes to win the affection of. When Kimberly wants to know if it's possible to get an interview with Blankman, Kevin begs Darryl to allow her to interview him. He relents, on the condition that she wear a carnation. Taking her on his Blank-Cycle at the train tracks, he brings her to his secret hideout: the "Blank Station," an abandoned subway station filled with all of his inventions, or, in his words, "junk." Kimberly interviews him about how and why he took up crime fighting, revealing it was because of the death of his grandmother. Impressed by his heroics and modesty, Kimberly immediately falls in love with him. She kisses him, only for him to panic when he gets an erection.

Mayor HARRIS attempts to bring in outside money to pay the IOUs the city has been giving its workers and requests that Blankman be there to protect the people and receive a special award. As the money is released, Minelli's henchmen storm the bank and take the mayor hostage, threatening to detonate explosives. At the police chief's request and the crowd's chants, Blankman attempts to save the mayor, and even with Kevin's help, he is unable to stop the crooks, nor defuse the bombs. Before the bombs go off, Darryl reveals his identity and his grandmother's support for the mayor. HARRIS wishes him well, warning him to run, and says he will tell his grandmother about Darryl. Blankman runs out screaming as the bank explodes, killing HARRIS. The crowd, seeing his failure, turn on him and chase him down the street. Now a pariah, Darryl gives up on crime fighting and even a possible relationship with Kimberly. Trying for a normal life, he gets a job at a McDonald's.

Wanting a great story, Larry Stone manages to contact Minelli and trades knowledge of Blankman's love for Kimberly in exchange for an exclusive interview. While researching Minelli and Grandma Walker's murder, Kimberly realizes his true identity and calls Kevin with the news, only for Minelli to take Kimberly hostage. Thinking he is talking to Blankman, Minelli threatens to kill Kimberly if Blankman doesn't show up. Kevin rushes to Darryl's workplace with the news, but Darryl refuses to help until Kevin reveals Minelli killed their grandmother. They leave and change to their superhero identities: Blankman, and Kevin agreeing to wear a costume himself as "Other Guy." The two heroes rush to the TV station, where Minelli has murdered a reporter and is threatening others, including Stone. The two engage in a fight with Minelli's goons, but they lose. They are placed in a water tank and left to drown, with Stone and Kimberly chained up and left to die, and Minelli has hidden bombs to destroy the building. Blankman calls J-5 to save them and succeeds. The duo then finds the bombs in the women's bathroom, and stuffs the explosives inside J-5, while he frees Kimberly (Stone is left behind, as a joke by Other Guy). Once outside, the explosives detonate, destroying J-5. Distraught, Blankman swears revenge.

Tracking Minelli to his factory hideout, Blankman and Other Guy prepare for the final battle. Other Guy is overconfident and gets wounded because his costume is not bulletproof. Blankman then defeats Minelli's goons with his electric "newchucks," and activates his jet-powered roller blades to capture Minelli, delivering him to the police and finally avenging their grandmother's death. Blankman, this time with Other Guy, is once again acknowledged as a hero by the people and receives the Mayor HARRIS Award for outstanding community service at a ceremony in their honor, while Other Guy receives a Blankman T-shirt, much to his disgust. After the ceremony, Kevin introduces Kimberly to Darryl. The two make light conversation until Kimberly pretends to see a purse snatcher, which puts Darryl on high alert. It was a trick, as Kimberly reveals she already knows that Darryl is Blankman to prove it, she kisses Darryl, causing him to fall to the ground embarrassingly like before. The film ends with a shot of a banner that reads "We Love You Blankman and Other Guy."

A red herring is something that misleads or distracts from a relevant or important question.[1] It may be either a logical fallacy or a literary device that leads readers or audiences toward a false conclusion. A red herring may be used intentionally, as in mystery fiction or as part of rhetorical strategies (e.g., in politics), or may be used in argumentation inadvertently.[2]

Logical fallacy

As an informal fallacy, the red herring falls into a broad class of relevance fallacies. The expression is mainly used to assert that an argument is not relevant to the issue being discussed. For example, "I think we should make the academic requirements stricter for students. Intentional device

In fiction and non-fiction, a red herring may be intentionally used by the writer to plant a false clue that leads readers or audiences toward a false conclusion.[6][7][8] For example, the character of Bishop Aringarosa in Dan BROWN's The Da Vinci Code is presented for most of the novel as if he is at the centre of the church's conspiracies, but is later revealed to have been innocently duped by the true antagonist of the story. The character's name is a loose Italian translation of "red herring" (aringa rosa; rosa actually meaning 'pink', and very close to rossa, 'red').[9]

The story came to notice in the late 1990s when reporting by Newsmax led by celebrity tabloid magazine Star to commission a paternity test prove whether Williams is actually Clinton's biological son.[3] Time magazine cited Star on July 18, 1999 to say that there was no match.[4]

The story was revived in 2016 before the 2016 presidential election and pushed by a number of media outlets including Newsmax, the Drudge Report,[3] as well as WorldNetDaily,[1] and the New York Daily News.[1]

Due to some uncertainties with the original test by Star, Snopes concluded that the claim was unproven.[3] The Washington Post stated that, while the test could not prove Clinton was the father, it did conclusively rule him out as the father.[1]

On October 19, 2016, Williams' lawyers announced their intentions to file a paternity suit to prove that Clinton's DNA matched Williams'.[5] Williams wrote to Monica Lewinsky asking for her dress in order to obtain a sample of Clinton's DNA. However, Lewinsky never replied to Williams.[6] A partial analysis of Clinton's blood, and thus his DNA, was already part of the public record because of the Lewinsky affair investigation.[1]

Charles Babbage, an English mechanical engineer and polymath, originated the concept of a programmable computer. Considered the "father of the computer",[22] he conceptualized and invented the first mechanical computer in the early 19th century.

After working on his difference engine he announced his invention in 1822, in a paper to the Royal Astronomical Society, titled "Note on the application of machinery to the computation of astronomical and mathematical tables",[23] he also designed to aid in navigational calculations, in 1833 he realized that a much more general design, an analytical engine, was possible. The input of programs and data was to be provided to the machine via punched cards, a method being used at the time to direct mechanical looms such as the Jacquard loom. For output, the machine would have a printer, a curve plotter and a bell. The machine would also be able to punch numbers onto cards to be read in later. The engine would incorporate an arithmetic logic unit, control flow in the form of conditional branching and loops, and integrated memory, making it the first design for a general-purpose computer that could be described in modern terms as Turing-complete.[24][25]

The machine was about a century ahead of its time. All the parts for his machine had to be made by hand – this was a major problem for a device with thousands of parts. Eventually, the project was dissolved with the decision of the British Government to cease funding. Babbage's failure to complete the analytical engine can be chiefly attributed to political and financial difficulties as well as his desire to develop an increasingly sophisticated computer and to move ahead faster than anyone else could follow. Nevertheless, his son, Henry Babbage, completed a simplified version of the analytical engine's computing unit (the mill) in 1888. Janet Wood Reno (July 21, 1938 – November 7, 2016) was an American lawyer and public official who served as the first female and 78th United States attorney general. The 9th hour is a biblically significant time of day.  As Watchmen, we are being alerted to the spiritual import of this hour accentuated in the scriptures.  The 9th hour is 3pm, the time Jesus died on the cross and the veil was forever rent offering all access to Him, Mt. 27:46-51.  It is the hour Peter and John performed the first miracle after Pentecost, Acts 3:1.  It is also the hour the angel appeared to Cornelius and told him his prayers had been heard in heaven and instructions were given as to how to fulfill them, Acts 10:31.  

       In Jewish tradition, there were regular hours of prayer inferred from the following:

Ps 55:17 "Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress and He hears my voice."

Daniel 6:10  "Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God as he had done before."

Historic recurrence is the repetition of similar events in history.[a][b] The concept of historic recurrence has variously been applied to overall human history (e.g., to the rises and falls of empires), to repetitive patterns in the history of a given polity, and to any two specific events which bear a striking similarity.[4]

Hypothetically, in the extreme, the concept of historic recurrence assumes the form of the Doctrine of Eternal Recurrence, which has been written about in various forms since antiquity and was described in the 19th century by Heinrich Heine[c] and Friedrich Nietzsche.[d]

While it is often remarked that "history repeats itself", in cycles of less than cosmological duration this cannot be strictly true.[e] In this interpretation of recurrence, as opposed perhaps to the Nietzschean interpretation, there is no metaphysics. Recurrences take place due to ascertainable circumstances and chains of causality.[f]

An example is the ubiquitous phenomenon of multiple independent discovery in science and technology, described by Robert K. Merton and Harriet Zuckerman. United Airlines Flight 93 was a domestic scheduled passenger flight that was hijacked by four al-Qaeda terrorists on the morning of September 11, 2001, as part of the September 11 attacks. The hijackers planned to crash the plane into a federal government building in the national capital of Washington, D.C. The mission became a partial failure when the passengers fought back, forcing the terrorists to crash the plane in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, preventing them from reaching al-Qaeda's intended target, but killing everyone aboard the flight. The airliner involved, a Boeing 757-200 with 44 passengers and crew, was flying United Airlines' daily scheduled morning flight from Newark International Airport in New Jersey to San Francisco International Airport in California, making it the only plane hijacked that day not to be a Los Angeles–bound flight.

Forty-six minutes into the flight, the hijackers murdered one passenger, stormed the cockpit, and struggled with the pilots as controllers on the ground listened in. Ziad Jarrah, who had trained as a pilot, took control of the aircraft and diverted it back toward the East Coast, in the direction of D.C. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Ramzi bin al-Shibh, considered principal instigators of the attacks, have claimed that the intended target was the U.S. Capitol Building.[1]

The plane was 42 minutes behind schedule when it left the runway at 08:42. The hijackers' decision to wait an additional 46 minutes to launch their assault meant that the people being held hostage on the flight very quickly learned that suicide attacks had already been made by hijacked airliners on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center complex in New York City as well as the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, near D.C. By 9:57 a.m., only 29 minutes after the plane had been hijacked, the passengers had made the decision to fight back in an effort to gain control of the aircraft. In the ensuing struggle, the plane nosedived into a field near a reclaimed strip mine in Stonycreek Township, near Indian Lake and Shanksville, about 65 miles (105 km) southeast of Pittsburgh and 130 miles (210 km) northwest of the capital. One person witnessed the impact from the ground, and news agencies began reporting the event within an hour.

United Airlines Flight 93 was the fourth and final passenger jet to be commandeered by terrorists on September 11, and the only one that did not reach a target intended by al-Qaeda. The hijacking was supposed to be coordinated with that of American Airlines Flight 77, which struck the Pentagon less than 26 minutes before the crash of Flight 93. The Arab Spring (Arabic: الربيع العربي, romanized: ar-rabīʻ al-ʻarabī) or the First Arab Spring (to distinguish from the Second Arab Spring) was a series of anti-government protests, uprisings and armed rebellions that spread across much of the Arab world in the early 2010s. It began in Tunisia in response to corruption and economic stagnation.[1][2] From Tunisia, the protests then spread to five other countries: Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Syria and Bahrain. Rulers were deposed (Zine El Abidine Ben Ali of Tunisia in 2011, Muammar Gaddafi of Libya in 2011, Hosni Mubarak of Egypt in 2011, and Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen in 2012) or major uprisings and social violence occurred including riots, civil wars, or insurgencies. Sustained street demonstrations took place in Morocco, Iraq, Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and Sudan. Minor protests took place in Djibouti, Mauritania, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and the Moroccan-occupied Western Sahara.[3] A major slogan of the demonstrators in the Arab world is ash-shaʻb yurīd isqāṭ an-niẓām! (Arabic: الشعب يريد إسقاط النظام, lit. 'the people want to bring down the regime').[4]

The wave of initial revolutions and protests faded by mid-2012, as many Arab Spring demonstrations were met with violent responses from authorities,[5][6][7] pro-government militias, counterdemonstrators, and militaries. These attacks were answered with violence from protesters in some cases.[8][9][10] Multiple large-scale conflicts followed: the Syrian civil war;[11][12] the rise of ISIL,[13] insurgency in Iraq and the following civil war;[14] the Egyptian Crisis, election and removal from office of Mohamed Morsi, and subsequent unrest and insurgency;[15] the Libyan Crisis; and the Yemeni crisis and subsequent civil war.[16] Regimes that lacked major oil wealth and hereditary succession arrangements were more likely to undergo regime change.[17]

A power struggle continued after the immediate response to the Arab Spring. While leadership changed and regimes were held accountable, power vacuums opened across the Arab world. Ultimately, it resulted in a contentious battle between a consolidation of power by religious elites and the growing support for democracy in many Muslim-majority states.[18] The early hopes that these popular movements would end corruption, increase political participation, and bring about greater economic equity quickly collapsed in the wake of the counter-revolutionary moves by foreign state actors in Yemen,[19] the regional and international military interventions in Bahrain and Yemen, and the destructive civil wars in Syria, Iraq, Libya, and Yemen.[20]

Some have referred to the succeeding and still ongoing conflicts as the Arab Winter.[11][12][14][15][16] Recent uprisings in Sudan and Algeria show that the conditions that started the Arab Spring have not faded and political movements against authoritarianism and exploitation are still occurring.[21] Since late 2018, multiple uprisings and protest movements in Algeria, Sudan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Egypt have been seen as a continuation of the Arab Spring.[22][23]

As of 2021, multiple conflicts are still continuing that might be seen as a result of the Arab Spring. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations members in 2015, created 17 world Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They were created with the aim of "peace and prosperity for people and the planet..."[1][2][3] – while tackling climate change and working to preserve oceans and forests. The SDGs highlight the connections between the environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainable development. Sustainability is at the center of the SDGs.[4][5]

The short titles of the 17 SDGs are: No poverty (SDG 1), Zero hunger (SDG 2), Good health and well-being (SDG 3), Quality education (SDG 4), Gender equality (SDG 5), Clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), Affordable and clean energy (SDG 7), Decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), Industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced inequalities (SDG 10), Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), Climate action (SDG 13), Life below water (SDG 14), Life on land (SDG 15), Peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).

These goals are ambitious, and the reports and outcomes to date indicate a challenging path. Most, if not all, of the goals are unlikely to be met by 2030. Rising inequalities, climate change, and biodiversity loss are topics of concerns threatening progress. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to 2023 made these challenges worse. The pandemic impacted all 17 goals and emphasized the interconnectedness of global health, economic, social, and environmental challenges.[6] Some regions, such as Asia, have experienced significant setbacks during that time. The global effort for the SDGs calls for prioritizing environmental sustainability, understanding the indivisible nature of the goals, and seeking synergies across sectors.

With regards to the political impact of the SDGs, it has been observed that they have mainly influenced global and national debates. By doing so, they have led to discursive effects for global and national debates. However, they have struggled to achieve transformative changes in policy and institutional structures.[6] The uneven prioritization of goals reflects longstanding national development policies. This complicates the global endeavor towards sustainable development. For example, there has long been a tendency to favor socio-economic objectives over environmental ones.[6]

Funding remains a critical issue for achieving the SDGs. Significant financial resources would be required worldwide. The UN, other international organizations, and national governments are trying to assist with funding efforts. Furthermore, the role of private investment and a shift towards sustainable financing are also essential for realizing the SDGs. Examples of progress from some countries demonstrate that achieving sustainable development through concerted global action is possible.

The oldest written evidence of rose cultivation comes from a tablet discussing the Akkadian king Sargon I’s military campaign to the west. Sargon brought rosebush saplings with him on the campaign so rose cultivation could begin in these newly acquired territories soon after his conquest. It was an act of supreme confidence and evidence of roses’ importance to Akkadian culture.

Rosalia Lombardo (13 December 1918 – 6 December 1920)[1] was a Palermitan child who died of pneumonia, resulting from the Spanish flu,[2] one week before her second birthday. Rosalia's father, Mario Lombardo, grieving her death, asked Alfredo Salafia, an embalmer, to preserve her remains.[3] Sometimes called "Sleeping Beauty", hers was one of the last corpses to be admitted to the Capuchin catacombs of Palermo in Sicily. 

Embalming

Thanks to Salafia's embalming techniques, the body was well-preserved. X-rays of the body show that all the organs are remarkably intact.[4] Rosalia Lombardo's body is kept in a small chapel at the end of the catacomb's street and is encased in a glass covered coffin, placed on a wooden pedestal. A 2009 National Geographic photograph of Rosalia Lombardo shows the mummy is beginning to show signs of decomposition, most notably discoloration. Her body is starting to take on a yellow waxy skin texture.[5] To address these issues, the mummy was moved to a drier spot in the catacombs, and her original coffin was placed in a hermetically sealed glass enclosure with nitrogen gas to prevent decay.[6] The mummy remains one of the best preserved bodies in the catacombs.

While there are claims that Capuchin catacombs curator Dario Piombino-Mascali and his associates were the first to discover Salafia's unpublished manuscripts, Professor Umberto Di Cristina and co-author were the first to discover the unpublished manuscript in their book La Dimora delle Anime, which was published in February of 2007, two years before Dario Piombino-Mascali and his colleague's published their work. An English translation by the author's of "The discovery of the Salafia handwritten manuscript and formula. Chronological and biological considerations" note 21, p. 90 from the book La Dimora delle Anime by Di Cristina et al., 2007:"Alfredo Salafia studied the process of mummification of the bodies and dedicated his life to the research of the methods to preserve the corpses by the use of pharmacological substances and chemical preparations. He wrote a treatise entitled Nuovo Metodo Speciale per la conservazione del cadavere umanointero alla stato permanentemente fresco (New Special Method for the Preservation of the Entire Human Cadaver in the State of Permanent Freshness). It consists of around 30 handwritten pages where Salafia performs a concise description of the mummification techniques from the Egyptians to the Capuchins, and provides information on the European and American studies in the first years of the twentieth century; in his treatise he describes his own (embalming) method and describes the history of the embalming procedures of some illustrious personages, (whose bodies were) well-preserved thanks to his method: among those (are), Francesco Crispi, the cardinal Michelangelo Celesia, Archbishop of Palermo, and the Senator Giacomo Armò»." The author's state that "there are no published documentary, archival or photographic sources which support the claim that Alfredo Salafia embalmed Rosalia Lombardo" [7]The embalming formula, as stated by Dario Piombino-Mascali et. al, is described as "one part glycerin, one part formalin saturated with zinc sulfate and zinc chloride, and one part of an alcohol solution saturated with salicylic acid", and was entered into the body through a single-point injection, most likely into the femoral artery via a gravity injector.[1][8] Rossella Lorenzi of Discovery News reported that the formalin was used to kill bacteria, the glycerin used to prevent desiccation, and the salicylic acid used to eliminate any fungi within the flesh, with the purpose of the zinc salts being petrifaction.[8]

The mummy has achieved further notoriety for a phenomenon in which her eyes appear to open and close several times a day, revealing her intact blue irises.[9] In response to speculation about her moving eyelids, Piombino-Mascali stated that "It's an optical illusion produced by the light that filters through the side windows, which during the day is subject to change ... [her eyes] are not completely closed, and indeed they have never been".[10]

Roses and ancient Roman rituals

During the Roman Empire, Rosalia or Rosaria was a festival of roses celebrated on various dates, primarily in May, but scattered through mid-July. The observance is sometimes called a rosatio (rose-adornment) or the dies rosationis, ‘day of rose-adornment’.

Flowers were traditional symbols of rejuvenation, rebirth, and in Greece and Rome, wreaths and garlands of flowers and greenery were worn by both men and women for festive occasions. They were offered to deities, particularly the goddesses Venus, Persephone and Flora, the goddess of Spring.Venus received roses at her ritual cleansing (lavatio) on April 1st and at the wine festival (Vinalia). And, in Athens, roses and violets could be adornments for Dionysian feasts.

The Roman army celebrated the Rosaliae signorum, rose festivals at which they adorned the military standards with garlands. The rose festivals of ancient times are recorded in at least forty-one inscriptions in Latin and sixteen in Greek, where the observance is often called a rhodismos.

An Imperial-era business letter, written on papyrus, documents that 4,000 narcissus  flowers were sent from a florist to a wedding. We know too, that men wore a garland of flowers more than women. First century AD Roman poet Statius describes a groom as wearing a wreath of roses, violets, and lilies.

And then, of course, early Christian writers transferred the imagery of garlands and crowns of roses and violets to the cult of the saints. Blood and flowers are linked in divine metamorphosis in mythology.

And in fact every year, at the Pantheon, a place of Christian worship, which was converted from a pagan temple, to the Basilica of Mary and the Martyrs, celebrate Pentecost by dropping rose petals through the roof.  Like many pagan rituals, they were continued in Christian times, but with a different meaning.

Paracelsus’ prophecy to Emperor Ferdinand in 1536 did consist of “an ‘F’ standing on a rose, beneath which is a crown.”"

Our parable thus distinguishes between true and false union. The true is inward and real; the false is outward and superficial. The true rests on the fitness of things and on eternal laws; the false relies on the capriciousness of human nature and the ebb and flow of circumstances. The false comes through conquest, coercion, and oppression; the true comes from God, righteousness and liberty. You will find these two kinds of union facing us in all relations of life. Take the history of Christianity in the world.

1. The aim of the Roman Catholic Church has been to create union among all Christians. But, while the aim has been good, the method employed has been bad. The union thus sought has been a false one because it has tried to coerce and compel men to acknowledge the Pope to be the one earthly vicar of Christ.

2. A similar policy has been that of the Established Church of England. As soon as the prayer-book was compiled a series of Acts of Parliament were passed — the Act of Uniformity, etc. — to compel all British subjects to conform to its teaching. An effort was made to establish union by Acts of Parliament. The effort with a right and noble aim has failed because based on false methods.

3. Dissenters have also erred in like manner. At the assembly of Westminster divines a number of eminent Christian men drew up a set of doctrines, which were to be the infallible guide for a section of the followers of Christ. If a carpenter has a certain number of boards to make he gets the wood that is necessary; he takes his measurements; he cuts and planes each board exactly to the size, and length, and breadth, and thickness that he desires; he joins the boards together and makes the box, or floor, or other article as the case may be. All are united to complete the one object intended. But it is impossible for us to apply the word "union" in this sense to intelligent, thinking human beings. You may cut, measure wood and inanimate objects as you please, but here you have to do with "creatures" in whom there is the "Divine gift of reason and free-will." If you wish to unite men under any government, religious or political, you must first appeal to their reason, and leave them free to act as that reason leads them. The only true basis of union among human beings is the "Presence of God" — in other words, righteousness, justice, liberty, and truth. For where righteousness, justice, liberty, and truth are, there God is. The members of a family are united not by bearing the same name, resembling each other in stature and features, but by doing what is right and just to each other, and by loving one another. The members of the Church of Christ are not united by repeating the same creed, by meeting in the same place of worship, by calling themselves by the same name, but by having hearts glowing with love to one Saviour, and by gladly serving their one Lord. The people of a nation are united together not by national prejudices and oppressive laws so much as by their common loyalty to a righteous and just government.

But herein, saith the Apostle, what can you lay against me, but that I was content to take any pains for your sakes, and when I lacked, to travail for my living with mine own hands in part, and partly also when poverty constrained me, I chose rather otherwise to seek my sustenance, than to be any burden to you, although I preached the Gospel unto you?
